It is always nice when some one just says, "look this is not as difficult as you are making it....let's just break it into simpler components." You rock man...Thank you
I started taking sight reading very seriously because I was about to begin piano lessons and I wanted to be somewhat familiar with the basics. Except all the useful stuff like notes, semantics, etc., I began to watch Saher's videos about rhythm every single day until my lessons would start (this while was for about a month). I applied this knowledge building my own examples, too. My teacher told me it's unbelievavable how you grasped rhythm without proper guidance. Then I show him Galt. He told me very positive things about the tutorials, and also found the presentation extremely helpful. peace to all of you guyz and keep it up
idk if you'll ever see this, but you just made a seemingly simple part of music that I couldn't wrap my head around into something super easy for me to understand and apply to my own music. You have a lovely way of explaining things. Please keep doing this, thank you so much!
I don't often feel compelled to comment on a video but this series is one of the most useful things I have come across; it has helped me tremendously. Thank you so much for posting it!
Saher Galt you are great your voice is very calming and helpful with clear speech as I am deaf and going for Grade 4 singing thankyou so much I watch a lot of your videos keep them coming .Evelyn Ann November 2019
I've been struggling with rhythm so I'm starting to use this. Your set of videos for ryhthm are really inspired and give me a route to move forward. At last can see light at the end of the tunnel!. Thanks so much for building and posting these. Now for the hard work.
Dude! what are you? I am gonna figure the out what? But truly you are the not Galt, your the God of music and teaching. I can’t keep watching your lessons and I can’t keep listening yo your songs man.?!! I AM GETTING JEALOUUUUUUUS ! You are too good I am signing up for one of your premium classes, let me see how good product maker, you are?! Bless you buddy
your way is much better than others bcz after several examples, you tell us to perform first and then check with the one you perform....that's what I like about your videos....it really helps to boost the confidence and we can easily identify our mistakes....keep up the good work....!
You are an excellent teacher. Thank you.Simplifying the complex by breaking it down into smaller clearer, simpler, easier to process units is what good teaching is all about. I am going to have to work on these complex patterns, I realise. But, at least I now know how to tackle them, though I still have an aversion to the ties and silent notes, especial when the come in certain places I don't want them in because they throw my mental processing off, which is probably why composers put them there to begin with. To make sure we're all alert and on the ball. Or wake us up, if we're getting too slack and comfortable withfamiliar, predictable rhythms, like are used in simple rock or simple repetitive folk music styles. Interesting videos exploring music theory, a topic many modern musicians find too complex and theoretical and abstract to be bothered with. But it's like a tradesman with a fancy piece of machinery he wants to employ to do the job but can't or won't read the instructions first, preferring to just dive in and do it, with less than satisfactory results.
Thank you I'm really starting to get it after watching these videos, this should be a prerequisite for learning the piano as I've been playing for years but not really understanding the rhythms.
Sahir - Thanks for your explanation of how to disassemble a rhythm into beat units to get a steady pulse, and then reassemble it all with applicable ties. I found it so much easier to get into the groove without having to count endless 1& 2& 3& 4&s.
Excellent!!! My sight reading is ok but only with music I’m familiar with and know the way it goes. I’m working on reading things I’ve never seen. These videos are great tools. Give us more. I agree with others in reference to your voice and style. Thanks
the greatest rhythm videotutorial I've seen. congratulations. You make it easy, what isn't in the beginnig. for jazz lovers, would you creaty a swing rhythm tutorial? Thank you un advance saher
Thank you for this very insightful video. Neither I or my bass teacher was happy about a piece of music he gave me. After watching this, I know I can do it with ease now. I’ve come back to this video a few times to make sure it’s deeply ingrained in me. Where is the first video in this series of rhythm? I’d like to watch all your videos. Great job in imparting the knowledge.
From long time I was searching for that missing link and then i did found him earlier like 1.5 year before and may be practice it for 1-2 hours but then forget or got into many other things. And suddenly i started doing only this video for like 2 weeks . Oh man i cannot thank you enough. This morning tears was flowing from my eyes man. I still cannot believe ❤❤🔥🔥🤘🤘
DAMN you are a great teacher....i just watch this video once and i understood it....i like the way the break it down into a simpler form so us newbie can catch on....thank you i really appreciate you sharing these vidoes
Very nice video, thank you! A good addition to my current guitar lessons. I couldn't figure out which popular song(s) was/were hidden behind the rhythms though. Can you tell plz?
Awesome videos. You are able to simplify very well I've always had trouble reading rhythms I don't think it was ever explained in a way I understand this was helpful do you provide a video on jazz rhythms?
Saher! Your videos are THE BEST I have ever encountered on rhythm and sight singing. I would like to subscribe and contribute financially but can't figure out how or where to do that on your sight. Can you advise me on both - - how to subscribe so that I don't miss any of your music instruction videos and can send a gift. BTW, I don't have Venmo. Thank you for being SOOO clear and patient in all your videos.
I’m curious, are you a bonafide genius? I mean it’s really cool to see people who are smart and self-actualizing right in front of you. Wishing I had started making every moment count earlier. Oh well, thanks for sharing your talent.
I like how you explain it. When I show my friends my music or ask what is that now I can show them this :D seriously it's hard to tell someone how you do something that you don't even think about.
Do you have any videos showing how to sight read musical notes better (Techniques/tools) Something different from ALL COWS EAT GRASS etc. I really struggle to remember notes when i pick up grade 2 pieces. Notes on the extra ledger lines are not sticking in my head for treble and bass clef.
Very good approach. I like it. But if I may suggest, I think it would make it even better if you counts were performed over the ticking sound of a metronome.
The syncopated melody starts to suggest a beat on the 'and', which makes keeping to the actual beat very tricky e.g Desafinado and other Jobim and Latin tunes. You start learning each measure, then joining each measure to the next...brain-mashing stuff..
It is always nice when some one just says, "look this is not as difficult as you are making it....let's just break it into simpler components." You rock man...Thank you

Thanks for all the rhythm series! It means a lot to all the musicians ❤️
Essential viewing for anyone who's remotely interested in playing an instrument. Thank you.
Damn nice. Love that you drop the Ta, ti-ti, ti-ki-ti-ki stuff - you're right - it IS a distraction
Saher Galt you are great your voice is very calming and helpful with clear speech as I am deaf and going for Grade 4 singing thankyou so much I watch a lot of your videos keep them coming .Evelyn Ann November 2019
A great job making this so much clearer than I could have imagined. Thank you for posting!
Best rhythm lesson I have ever seen in my life.
Sublime. The video itself just SOUNDS beautiful. The voice itself is a rather lovely "Da-Da-Da" itself.
I've been struggling with rhythm so I'm starting to use this. Your set of videos for ryhthm are really inspired and give me a route to move forward. At last can see light at the end of the tunnel!. Thanks so much for building and posting these. Now for the hard work.

Thanks for showing me how much I suck at reading rhythm! Seriously, a weak area for me. Good to know what to focus on. Thanks.

Excellent work! One way to master these beats is to practice them at 0.75 speed, then normal, followed by 1.25 speed.
Your higher power will pay you back. 🙏🏼Thank you ❤️❤️
Awesome share Saher..thanks!!
Will u do a video on charting out complex rhythms by writing out the beats

Great teaching. I’have difficulties about 16th triplets, any suggestions is welcome?
Very good approach. I like it. But if I may suggest, I think it would make it even better if you counts were performed over the ticking sound of a metronome.
The syncopated melody starts to suggest a beat on the 'and', which makes keeping to the actual beat very tricky e.g Desafinado and other Jobim and Latin tunes. You start learning each measure, then joining each measure to the next...brain-mashing stuff..
Amazing! Helping a lot!
This is so helpful. TYVM!
Really helpful!.. would be really cool to see how legatos work across compases!
Thank you Saher!
