Barog Railway Station is located at a height of 1531m above sea level in Solan District of Himachal Pradesh.Among the 102 operational tunnels (constructed between years:1900-1903) on the Kalka-Shimla Railway (96Km), Barog Tunnel is the longest tunnel measuring 1143m and is one of the straightest tunnels in the world. There are rumours and videos/news statingt this tunnel as a haunted tunnel and the story is related to the then railway engineer Col. Barog, who was incharge of the tunnel construction and committed suicide as his calculations went wrong during the tunnel construction. ER. Harrington then completed the tunnel work at Barog. How true is this story?? There are many gaps in this story….
