I loved how they represented the friendship between GI Robot and Nina. It showed that GI genuinely cared for Nina despite her being outside of his main directive.
Cheers for the Tin Man! Loved the metaphor for being a soldier and bawled my eyes out when he started growing cobwebs in the jail cell. I'm so glad my friend who's a veteran is doing well. I guess because the Bride survived her flashback episode, I was naive in thinking GI would survive too. But GI Robot was a soldier. A soldier does his duty and serves his purpose, and the narrative was done with him. I can't believe how much I cared about him after such a short time. Reminds me a bit of Alice the protection witch in Agatha All Along.
He did it again! James Gunn got me emotionally attached to a character in record time - a robot, no less, who's the type of character you wouldn't normally associate with "emotion." Great review and background insights!
As a Circe/Wonder Woman fan, I didn't love what we did with her but I'm happy for the old GI Robot fans. Yall played the long game but are eating well lol
so glad to landed here (thanks to James) i found another great channel that discuss comics, i absolutely loved your videos, the presentation and the way you explain it,, had me locked in the entire video. i can't wait to see more content from you and just letting you know you got one more person support here, all the best Jenna, cheers for this channel and to the tin man!
For Nina's sake, I hope we can fix G.I. Robot (I don't buy that he's gone, because robots are pretty damn unkillable). I didn't cry like I did with Rogue and Gambit in X-Men '97... but that last moment between Nina and G.I. Robot had the same feel (both ended on the tearful ragged breaths of Nina and Rogue as they cradled what was left of their sacrificial fellas) 🤖
I was blown away to see Little Sure Shot in this episode. I’m happy to see a Native this early in the DCU! And even more excited about the possibility of Luca Gudagnino working with an Indigenosu actor.
I really enjoy your channel and the way you approach media. I'm glad you got recognized by Gunn for that very thing, but more importantly that you believed in your own work to pursue this line of work. Its only up from there, Not Professor!
So the misunderstood misfit that society labeled as bad guy but in reality is a good guy is James Gunn's bread and butter writing choice but something about G.I. Robot hits so different. All his flashbacks consist of people treating him like he's more than just a mindless Nazi killing drone, meanwhile all G.I. wants is to be exactly that, his big payoff moment of catharsis is to do the thing he's programmed to do and ultimately his death(?) is Circe just blowing him up and everyone but Nina shrugs him off immediately. It's almost like G.I. Robot's resolution is that in the end he really was just a robot afterall. Even everyone's talk about how they can just rebuild him or make G.I. Mark 3 unintentionally reinforces the fact that he's a disposable machine. That's not the resolution we're used to with Gunn's characters but that's the reason why his death(?) works so well.
Im glad you do these videos for this series cause i literally cannot watch the show where i live due to the streaming service not being available in my country
Loved the content! Super informative, and you're fun with explaining stuff/giving your opinions, definitely gonna subscribe. And always nice to have safe spaces in the comic community where you can engage with the community without worrying about the alt-right jerks.
Just watched James Gunns recap of Episode 3. Man I didn't know that the Dr. That studied G.I Robot was the creator of the Metal Men team! Great set up for future film and team build up.
I loved this episode, and I loved GI Robot!!! He better not be permanently dead, I fell in love with his character over the first three episodes. If he is dead, At least we'll get to see more of him if that Easy Company movie gets made, so I can take some solace in that. CHEERS TO THE TIN MAN!
I'm really excited for James Gunn's DC Universe. This show just gives me more confidence in him, as he's not scared to show the more obscure or weird side of DC. I can't wait to see batman and all his villains in their classic costumes.
Great video, I'd love for you to make a video about Circe in CC since I don't know too much about (really only from the Greg Rucka run and the Absolute run) her but her getting beaten by freaking weasel seems a bit weird for me, I'd love t hear your thoughts on that.
Maybe I’m coping, but I mean- he IS a robot. Robots can be rebuilt. Plus he has a 2 on his helmet, insinuating he is the second G.I robot. Maybe….hopefully…we’ll get our boy back, with a new number 3 helmet.

Cheers to Tin Man! Only James Gunn can make me love a character so quickly and then proceed to immediately butcher my heart apart.
Cheers for the Tin Man!

I just love what James Gunn is doing. DC is more than just superheroes and I’m glad we’re finally showing the world.

Congratz on the shoutout, it must feel good.

Cheers to the tin man, and im happy Dresden Dolls is getting mainstream appeal (Coin Operated boy)

It would be interesting if GI Robot kept coming back but with each of his different designs in the comics
Im glad you do these videos for this series cause i literally cannot watch the show where i live due to the streaming service not being available in my country
G.I. ROBOT IS BEST BOY
Nina and G.I. Robot are my favorites!

Also, Will Magnus should be bullied for not knowing about Rock and the Easy Company.
I love him so much, I want him to be my next tattoo. He's definitely not dead, I wonder if they'll change his design
Oh man, don’t tempt me to get a tattoo of him too!
If you do, make sure he's smiling because he's doing what he loves lol

GI Robot's coming back -- I hope. Great video and analysis.
I really hope NINA specifically rebuilds him. That would be immensely satisfying.
3:56 Really reminds me of Evangelion. Gonna develop the head cannon that Anno came up with Eva after reading GI Robot comics.
Jake the GI Robot has gotta be one of my favorite characters of 2024.
Love the episode I didn't know much of gi robot and I like the Sgt rock connection
Cheers to the Tin Man! Miss you buddy. 🍺🍺
Loved the episode so MUCH
GI Robot has been my favorite next to Weasel They can't kill him off :(

I cried. I think he's dead.

@JohnDoe-tl4gm This is a world where Superman exists. I'm sure you are correct lol
