I've seen so many videos and have heard lots of people saying getting a hair transplant without monoxodile/finasteride or propecia whatever the drug goes by now, is going to lead to a failed hair transplant and is a waste of money. I got a hair transplant about 5 years ago now and never got on any drugs and my existing hair still hasn't fallen out nor the transplanted. Given I only got the hairline done but still my hair is fine now I get compliments all the time after a fresh haircut and my doctor didn't even recommend finasteride, he said we leave that up to the patients to decide if they want to use that particular drug. They wanted me on minox but I didn't want to paste that stuff on my head everyday. Anyways everyone is different just sharing my experience. I'll never get on finasteride your body produces DHT for a reason Also a side note I have my hair just like yours but I have a 3 head my hairline is a lot lower and the top of mine is a little thicker but pretty much I keep the sides short with it longer on top for a fuller look.
@MichaelPittz i got it done at L.A fue hair clinic, I believe its called. I even asked my doctor do I have to take finasteride and he flat out told me they don't recommend it and they don't even prescribed it and he moved on pretty quick from the subject and went on to talk about minoxidil. He did want me on that but I never cracked the bottle open that he gave me. Everyone is different but I'll never take fin or minoxidil.
@@likenl4508 Getting your hairline touched up because of a little bit of receding, is totally different to someone that’s visibly thinning all over from a young age. The majority of young people with quite substantial hair loss would absolutely need to be on finasteride, or it’s all going behind the HT.
I used finasteride and dutasteride interchangeably for years. Stopped taking both for last 6 months. After 2 months of not taking either... i forgot ( and experienced) what a real orgasm was like. it will cause its transplated on front area which is sensitive do dth. Hair folicules adapt to tnasplanted area, that was proven when some surgeons transplanted hair from scalp to legs. Thouse hairs grew very slowly just like hair on your legs does. Scalp hair grows at fastest rate.
I’m the same had the transplant nearly 2 year ago still perfect. I’ve toyed with the idea of finasteride but all the side effects put me off, especially the impotent bit
I had a hair transplant 13 weeks ago with 2200 grafts. The inlets at the front and a part on the crown. It is now 13 weeks and it has already completely closed up. I had a very short phase (+/- 2 weeks) of hair loss and shaved my head bald for two months. After two months I let it grow and I go to the hairdresser every two weeks (because it still grows unevenly). But the bald spots are completely gone and then I am only at ''13 weeks''... What did I do to speed up this process... I used Minoxidil liquid for 2 months, which I spread over the scalp in combination with Dutasteride and zinc pills (swallow every day). ). After 10 weeks I switched to Nanoxidil (less aggressive than Minioxidil) and I take Dutasteride every other day (so not every day anymore). I do take zinc every day! As a shampoo and conditioner I use Revita shampoo (highly recommended) against hair loss. I underwent PRP treatment during the transplant and had my second PRP treatment yesterday. This is for more thickness and volume in the hair. I underwent the treatment in the Netherlands..
Bro I used nanoxidil for 4 months and I can say is a waste of money lost all my gains from minoxidil. Personally I say Just switch back to minoxidil, is cheaper.
@@H.E.M. Every time I applied Minoxidil to my scalp I got irritation on the scalp. Nanoxidil is more of a foam and less aggressive and has fewer side effects. I can't say yet whether Mino is better than Nano. Both products are equally expensive. I prefer Minoxidil, but the doctor advised me to use Nano.
Yes we do have to use Finasteride. There are however people who don't have to, as I personally know several guys from my town that did HT in Turkey about 6 years ago. They never used nothing, just some vitamins and zinc. But a very strange trait: ALL of them are Negative blood groups. 4 of them are B negative and 2 are other negatives. For everyone in their 30s after HT --> 1mg of Finasteride 3 times per week [Ideally Monday, Wednesday and Friday]. You can use it for 6 months, then make a 3 months pause to clear up your system from Finasteride and then resume. Source: Doctor Vikhram Jayaprakash and Doctor Russel Knudsen.
@@lachycummings3765 He just said from 37+ the hair loss slows down and become stable, that you're at 90% of your hair grade until 50 or something. In my case he recommended doing the transplant, stick with PRP/Meso-therapy for a year then monitor the hair progress, if the hair loss is stable or at a slow rate then we'll move forward without using medications.
The rule about hairloss is very easy....it never stops....it alters through phases of high/low/none loss rates and the pattern is completely individual!

That’s all fine but what about us that got severe side effects from finasteride? I’m sure you are aware that the 2 percent side effects given by the company are bogus as their own doctors were the ones doing the test. I tried finasteride as low of a dosage as humanly possible and my hair regrew amazing but I got Gyno as well as a few other conditions. I have no idea why but I’m a super responder to both hair growth and side effects with finasteride. So what do people do with severe side effects from even the smallest dosage?
Not everyone can take Finasteride; it’s not that simple. I got side effects on oral Finasteride and now I’m starting an alcohol free minoxidil formula so I don’t get an itchy scalp so here goes! I’m 1 and a half years into my transplant.
Good to read everyone comments and different views. I have had 3 FUE transplants. I wish I could take Finasteride but unfortunately, I did get the unwanted side effects. I have also tried tropical Minoxidil but again it gives me an itchy a scape. The only thing I haven't tried in oral minoxidil any feedback on that would be welcome. PS has anyone had the unwanted side effects from finasteride but still continue and after time the side effects became less?
Short answer I need about 3000 more graphs and maybe another 2000 in 4 years. I got my first hair transplant in 2013 at the age of 46, I was a Norwood 3, next one 18 months later, in total 3400 graphs, I was happy with the result and had no concern for the next 5 year. In 2019 the crown was getting worse, so I buzz cut it all off and wore a hat. Last year I got my 3rd hair transplant. I needed about 4000 graphs to achieve full coverage. I decided to only get 1000 graphs 500 from my bread and 500 from my scalp. Most of these went into the front. My plan was to see how the bread graphs were going to mix and grow with scalp graphs. So far it appears to go well and from the front it looks good.@@102bro

Most people continue to lose ground with finasteride and even with dutasteride. It slows down hairloss for sure but only for a small % stops it. Don't forget that fin lowers serum dht by ~70% and scalp dht by ~40%. Dht conversion also occurs in the skin. That's why topical solutions are a thing now. Best aproach it to combine both oral and topical. Pill in the morning and topical solution at night.

I stoped taking dustasterude as I did not see any major changes) I tried everything from ru5 to natural remedies but nothing is slowing down my hair loss anymore. I still have a lot of hair but the hair line it is looking pretty bad and I am getting tired of hiding it. I might have to shave. Does anyone know of any solution to finasteride not working anymore?
Well, to me it seems like you were able to avoid hair transplant surgery for 10 years. Getting your first HT with 34-35 is alright. It's not like Finasteride stops suddenly working on your whole head. It is mainly in the zones that are predisposed to baldness the most. Some doctors would argue that you could take 0.5mg Dutasteride 5-7 days a week instead of 1x, but other doctors only recommend it 1-2x. At the end of the day, hair transplant will solve what meds can not colve. Lets not expect meds to work miraculous and have great effects for the eternity.

comedy bald guys disgust girls but hey at least you can be manly as you visit the bathroom 3 times a day to release ur manliness straight into the toilet Lol
Bullshit! Blanket statement that does not even remotely apply to all hair transplants. Depends on age of the person, severity of the balding and how aggressive the balding has been over a particular time period. Transplanted hairs are extremely DHT resistant which means that they aren't going anywhere after being transplanted. If these hairs fall out it is because they were not DHT resistant hairs and they were not taken from the correct donor region. As for existing hair in the recipient (balding) area, well obviously any transplanted grafts should be transplanted to not only cover existing bald areas but should also be future proofing anticipated areas that will be susceptible to balding. Any decent clinic will absolutely do this. For people who have just begun balding, particularly if they are under the age of 35, they should take a wait and see approach and not use up all of their grafts in one shot but rather should be conservative with them as they may be needed in future, but using Finasteride is absolutely no guarantee that they will stop balding any further in the future. People on finasteride STILL lose their hair, just at a slower rate.
If that was the case than hairloss wouldn’t be a thing. You don’t think there’s no bald people out there with a better lifestyle and nutrition than the homeless junkie with a full head of hair 😂😂😂

I'll never get on finasteride your body produces DHT for a reason
Also a side note I have my hair just like yours but I have a 3 head my hairline is a lot lower and the top of mine is a little thicker but pretty much I keep the sides short with it longer on top for a fuller look.
Nice brother! May I ask where you got your procedure done?
Why would hair transplanted be effected by dht?
it will cause its transplated on front area which is sensitive do dth. Hair folicules adapt to tnasplanted area, that was proven when some surgeons transplanted hair from scalp to legs. Thouse hairs grew very slowly just like hair on your legs does. Scalp hair grows at fastest rate.
Got mine done, after a year still with out finasteride, hair looks great, i guess its different for everyone
lol you’re eventually gonna have to get another one. Time catches up to us all. You’re gonna have that monk look 😂
I’m the same had the transplant nearly 2 year ago still perfect. I’ve toyed with the idea of finasteride but all the side effects put me off, especially the impotent bit
Bro ignore one guy in ur comment who is commenting everywhere and marketing finax as if he invented and giving discounted coupons to buy some😂
Yes bro me too. Been 1 year since my transplant and maybe 6 months no minox / 10 months no finasteride. My hair looks the best it has ever been
Not everyone is destined to be a norwood 7 just because they have some hairloss.
Dutasteride side effects?
Can I use prp insted of fin ?
no, no sane doctor considers PRP as a viable replacement for Finasteride.

I'm 36, will do my first transplant in a week and the doctor told me i don't need to use either of Finasteride or Minoxidil.
@@amazoner0cksWhy did he say that?
@@lachycummings3765
He just said from 37+ the hair loss slows down and become stable, that you're at 90% of your hair grade until 50 or something.
In my case he recommended doing the transplant, stick with PRP/Meso-therapy for a year then monitor the hair progress, if the hair loss is stable or at a slow rate then we'll move forward without using medications.
Hair Transplants without Finasteride
Hair Transplants without Minoxidile
What is best/worst?
The rule about hairloss is very easy....it never stops....it alters through phases of high/low/none loss rates and the pattern is completely individual!
so im nw 6 ish and had a transplant 6 months ago, will need a second to cover more on the top and back. Should I start take finasteride before the second session or wait until after?

That’s all fine but what about us that got severe side effects from finasteride?
I’m sure you are aware that the 2 percent side effects given by the company are bogus as their own doctors were the ones doing the test.
I tried finasteride as low of a dosage as humanly possible and my hair regrew amazing but I got Gyno as well as a few other conditions.
I have no idea why but I’m a super responder to both hair growth and side effects with finasteride.
So what do people do with severe side effects from even the smallest dosage?
There are no side effects to finasteride
Not everyone can take Finasteride; it’s not that simple. I got side effects on oral Finasteride and now I’m starting an alcohol free minoxidil formula so I don’t get an itchy scalp so here goes! I’m 1 and a half years into my transplant.

PS has anyone had the unwanted side effects from finasteride but still continue and after time the side effects became less?
How does your hair look after 3 hair transplants?
Hey, I got an itchy scalp too on topical minoxidil so now I’m on the alcohol free one from Hims. I got side effects too on oral Finasteride unfortunately. I got 3.5K grafts 1.5 year ago.

Nw1.5 is not hair loss at all. Just your hairline maturing.
I am taking finasteride (3y) but still losing ground, but I think without would be worse.
Anything else I could do?
Got one Surgery with 34y 2600g. Afraid to lose ground
Switch to Dutasteride
if you have reached your hair loss limit as in age and you are norwoo 6 plus, you dont need medicine
What happened to Roney with hairline is realy sad. He was so happy in 2011 after 1.st HT.

After taking finasteride for 10 years with amazing results, it suddenly stopped working for me.

I’m on 1 milligram finasteride, 2.5 minoxidil. Topical 5% minoxidil and 0.3 finasteride. ( I took dutasteride 0.5 once a week , plus finasteride 1% for a year. I stoped taking dustasterude as I did not see any major changes)
I tried everything from ru5 to natural remedies but nothing is slowing down my hair loss anymore.
I rather just get the transplant because those side effects are atrocious 😂😂 i couldnt do those

@@102bro I dont think you can cover all those areas forever, if ur not taking steps to reduce the hair loss eventually you’ll lose the other parts.
