    You know why The Bad Batch-episode was such a hit?
    Because Brad Rau, the supvervising director, was more involved in it. Brad Rau is the guy, who wrote the Zeb-Kallus episode from Rebels. And episode 12 of season 2 from The Bad Batch is just another highlight of his.

    The good luck she said end of last episode was like a sarcastic goodbye, she doesn’t believe in his cause and is running a fools errand. This episode I think she was genuinely surprised by the mythsaur and maybe these ‘children’s stories’ have some truth in them that the children of the watch have and Din beliefs maybe aren’t as silly. Maybe this could be the begging of the two clans coming together, conflict at first fighting but these two ultimately join forces.

      @@Xyber7 yeah I was so excited at the beginning of this- clones being replaced and crosshair finally starts to see it. He’s not running these covert ops anymore, he’s on grunt work. Seeing him stand up to the lieutenant at the end was great, but cutting to him waking up pre-op was perhaps the worst twist. Now I’m worried we either get the next episode being a surgery or we won’t see crosshair again until he goes against the squad as a dark trooper.

  • @leefchapman

    The bird circling above the outpost and Cross looks up really reminded me of the final episode of Clone Wars when Vader looked up - coincidence? I feel like we are seeing a little bit of the emotional anguish of change in Vader and Crosshair.
    We then also had the ambient music from when Ahsoka buried the CTs happen when we lost another clone after the first raid.

    [SPOILERS] That bad batch episode was fucking perfection. I was skeptical when I first heard before season 1 that they were gonna turn Crosshair into a villain, but oh god I’m glad they did. It has us rooting for him to turn back and join his brothers, this episode was the ultimate payoff. Seeing him head shot the lieutenant at the end was so satisfying and emotional incredibly emotional. This is peak Star Wars. The episode contained almost every underlying theme that Star Wars aims to deliver. I understand not every episode can be like this one, but crosshairs arc is by far the best thing about this series and I can’t help but think him as well as the empire as a whole have been drastically under-utilised this season. Let’s hope there’s no more ‘filler’ episodes from now and we keep getting banger after banger until the end of the season. This has got me craving a season 3, whereas a few episodes ago I was fully giving up TBB

According to sources, Tem was hardly on set, possibly not at all, and he turned down going to Star Wars Celebration this year. Wasn’t at the Mandalorian Season 3 premiere either. Watching Crosshair from being a good soldier following orders from the empire to finally realizing that this shit isn’t right, it’s all been so cool to unravel and I just need more of this. It was so emotional, but Mayday had to die for Crosshair to finally come to his senses about all of this and man he’s beginning to be one of my characters of the series… and that’s coming from someone who didn’t really care for him during season 1 😭

  • @ForceSmart
    @ForceSmart ปีที่แล้ว +16

    They have their differences, but Din and Bo work work well together. I want to see more of them, together. Star Wars loves opposites who attract. Leia and Han, Mara and Luke, etc. Romance doesn't necessarily have to enter into it though. Din has the faith and a good heart that Bo has mostly lost over time to cynicism. Bo is probably at least a decade older and she has a lot of experience and memories with Mandalorian culture and history that Din often lacks. If they are able to set aside their differences and work towards a common goal that's larger than either of them individually, I believe that they could make a formidable partnership. I think they can teach each other how to become better Mandalorians.
    Perhaps the most obvious arc for their characters would appear to be conflict with each other, but I think that's neither a particularly interesting nor a particularly unforeseen path for Favreau and Filoni to lead us down. However, whatever the path, I know I'll be along for the ride.
    And yes, I totally exclaimed, quite loudly, "that's a mythosaur!"

    Great episode!
    Bo-Katan had become complacent and cynical about the whole mandalorian culture.
    Watching Din taking the whole creed so seriously was almost humorous to her because she saw it divide mandalorians for so long.
    She saw all the myths as stories for children and watching Din walk into the water reminded her of how seriously Mandalorians need to take their culture.
    Her seeing the mythosoar restored faith in her culture and values in being a mandalorian. She was taken by surprise and shaken up that all the myths were true by seeing the mythosoar, restoring faith in her culture.
    I don’t think she was trying to trick Din at all (she could have left him but she dove straight in with no hesitation). She was trying to prove a point that it’s nothing special.
    She left realising the myths were true!
    It’s all true, all of it.
    Very exciting.

    I like how they showed Mando and Bo finding some common ground on Mandalore despite having two different beliefs. I was worried when they showed Bo sitting hopelessly on her throne, thinking that the show was turning her into another Jake Skywalker. Thankfully she continues being a badass in this episode, even presenting a soft side of her being caring towards other Mandalorian like Din.

  • @NxthanWhite
    @NxthanWhite ปีที่แล้ว +1

    The whole point of her being sarcastic telling him goodluck going there is that to her, all the 'woo woo' is pointless. Tradition for spectacle as she said. She knows the waters aren't mystical, or that the planet is cursed or toxic.
    However, faith, belief and family are what bind us. Seeing Din so blindly follow the ex 'Death Watch cult' is somewhat inspiring. Sticking to the code and being one with the Mandalorian ways.
    The Mythosaur pulling him under is also symbolic in a way. A baptism by the most revered creature if not thing in their culture. He didn't drop all that way by himself. If almost revealing itself to them, letting her know not all tradition and legends are woo woo, pointless or false.
    The whole episode was great. I like seeing Bo Katan absolutely shocked at the end. Din also zealously following the creed was inspiring.
    The Bad Batch episode was also fantastic. 2 great episodes to get Wednesday off to a bang!

    I really think Din can make the case to Bo that SHE now is the rightful owner of the Darksabre. It was taken from him, and she claimed it back and used it to defeat the thing that took it from Din. I'm not sure if he's aware of that though, but if they talked about what happened, I think the "logic" of ownership puts it into her possession. I also think that her having seen the Mythosaur that it could spark her to either (a) trying to tame it, or (b) it inspires her to be more like Din...no longer removing her helmet. She too bathed in the waters, so she could be seen as redeemed by The Armorer.

    So regarding Din going bloop into the water. He was probably still weak from whatever the heck the weird thing did. Also, I don't think Bo knew the Mythosaur was there. The spring could originally covered up that spot of the mine and when the bombing occurred could have caused a cave in to expose the deeper part again.
    Also, back in the episode of Din's banishment in BoBF. I did say it would be crazy to find a Mythosaur while in the mines. I'd have to go find the exact stream and timestamp of when I sent it 😅
    Anyways, a well paced episode for sure and I enjoyed it along with the BAd Batch episode!

      On top of that Din's armor is made out of pure beskar, so I think it might be much heavier than standard mandalorian armor. The only reference I found on this is "Mandalorian iron" article on Wookieepedia. Quote: "In the foundry, carbons were often added to the ore to create a molecular cage structure that allowed Mandalorian iron to be lighter than contemporary metals, while still retaining its incredible toughness. Without the addition of carbon, beskar was significantly heavier."

      it wasn't by honourable combat and on agreeable terms. Take an example in Darth Maul vs Pre Viszla, Maul and Savage vs Palpatine in TCW and Garr Saxon vs Sabine Wren. What happened to Din wasn't. To be a true Mandalore, it has to be by honorable combat and on agreeable terms
      Bo Katan claimed the Dark Sabre from Sabine Wren via honouring the previous Mandalore's request of ruling in Sabine's stead but not in combat, making her a de facto Mandalore.

    Wait, I can't be the only one who thinks she didn't know the mythosaur was there, right?
    My interpretation was that she was looking at Din as he entered the waters with some awe in her eyes, almost realizing that it would be impossible that she'd ever feel like anyone could inspire her like he did. Even if she doesn't believe, there are some who still do and that is important to them. As she looks at him getting in the waters, nothing grabbed him, he just dropped due to his heavy beskar armor. Likely that he didn't know there would be a sudden drop after just a few steps. It felt like the mythosaur only opened its eyes after she caused the disturbance in the waters with her jetpack. She looked at it almost hopeful that she finally found a way to rally her people under her rule again, as her ancestor once did, by taming that mythosaur.
