  • Quick overview, walkthrough and jam with the Otis app on the #Monome #Norns Shield.
    I've had some time to spend with the Monome shield now. I'm slowly working my way through the large community-created folder of apps, and the Otis app was one that grabbed my ears. It's a delay/looper that has several ways to manipulate incoming audio. Hopefully this video will give you a taste of what vast possibilities there are with it!
    0:00 Intro - using norns
    1:00 OTIS app basics
    4:14 deeper parameters
    7:07 Modulating w LFOs
    10:00 Adding the Lo-Fi
    14:04 JAM! organic beats and tones

    the subtle slew on the pitch shifting is such a beautiful touch (one of my favorite things about softcut on Norns). Excited to try this with some spoken word stuff

    Super helpful and interesting! Very nice that you're taking the time to go in depth and not only scratch the surface of the app. Subscribed for more app reviews. Keep it up, much appreciated!

    Thanks for putting this together! I've been eyeballing a Norns for a few years and haven't quite been able to make my mind up about it, but this script alone seems like a good time! Subbed!

    This is one of the better intro videos I've seen. Thank you so much for uploading it and making it. I am also interested in the samples library you used on the Digitakt if you care to share. Thank you.

      Thanks mate. Appreciate the compliment! I can't quite remember what was on the digitakt. It might have been the factory sound pack that I just messed with

    thanks for your Video. I know it was some time ago, but did you ever connect the Elektron to Norns via Midi? & if so how did you do it since you have the Traditional style Midi on the Elektron but the Norns has a USB...

    • @AndyDollerson

      I didn’t if I remember correctly

  • @pangea2003
    @pangea2003 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    it's really nice being able to see how a script actually functions on the norns. Thanks! I'm just wondering if it would be possible to control and sequence all those parameters on the norns with the digitakt via MIDI?? Cheers!

    • @AndyDollerson
      @AndyDollerson  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah I did see something on the lines website about that - I believe the author of the code is working on creating midi functionality for it at the moment.

    • @DavidKettler
      @DavidKettler 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      All parameters in norns are always controllable by MIDI! It's built right into the norns main system that you can customize which MIDI ccs from which devices map to which parameters 👍
