i thought i’d sit down and give some background on my story of becoming a swiftie and why i am so passionate about her music and teaching it!
i’ve been a die hard swiftie for about 8 years now, but my journey with taylor swift’s music has been quite the roller coaster! i love that i get to share my love of tswift with y’all and make tutorials for you to learn her songs, just like i used to when i was learning the guitar.

I feel like you’re me. I was never a full on Swiftie from the beginning too. And I just went from 0-100. And all I play on guitar is Taylor Swift songs! So happy I can relate to someone.

sameeeee- but like i didn't care for her music back in 2014, or literally any time up until after evermore. cardigan was brought up in a soap-making video and then i listened to it, then listened to the whole album, moved on to evermore, listened to everything has changed because i had to learn a simplified version for guitar class, then moved onto reputation and 1989, and here I am, knowing all but maybe 10 of her songs (I've listened to i think all of them, just to me it doesn't count as knowing them unless i know lyrics from it and know the tune) which i am trying to change, AND i'm trying to memorize all the track numbers of all the songs. this was basically in the span of less than 6 months.

I began being a fan when my daughter started listening to her music...such a cool way to discover and love a musician's talent. I'm probably the oldest fan here...I'm here for it and I want to learn guitar finally after a lifetime of wanting to. Her music is inspiring.

I just became a swiftie after Red TV and I wish I stanned earlier because when I was younger (about 7-8) i knew sooo many of her songs from 1989 because they were always playing on the radio!

I been a Taylor swift fan for 12 years. Since 2008. Now I'm 29.
I’m 18 and I’ve been a crazy Taylor swift’s fan since I was 9. It’s 9 years. I bought a guitar and learn it just because of her and go into music because she really influenced me. My first English song that I played on my guitar was style. Just like you I’ve known as Taylor swift’s girl in my friends group and when they hear something about her they think Of me too!😂.I’m so proud to be a swiftie forever and always💞✌️😌but unfortunately I didn’t have a chance to see her in person or go to her concert or buy her albums and merch because of my country’s situation and I’ve been cried a lot because it’s one of my biggest dreams to see her. I hope one day it will come true🥲😭
I've been a fan of Taylor since the first time I watched Look What You Made Me Do and read so many articles explaining revealing her hidden messages inside. At that time I was like "OMG this woman is so so so savage and intelligent". But that was not the main reason. The point was that I broke up with my boy at the same them she made her iconic comeback with reputation. And the main theme of reputation, to me, is about how how you're reborn and rise up from the chaos and the death, and how you still believe in love after all this time and how you recognize that the magic that change your life is you yourself. I felt like, Taylor Swift she was the only person who could give me sympathy. So, I became a fan, have been a fan and will be a fan.

Im also 15 and I've been listening to her song when I was like 5 or something.. And I don't know her at that time, and I started listening more of her songs in 2018 because my brother has a lot of songs and vids of her so I watch it every time but I don't have any social media that time so i have no idea about her,, i haven't even hear her talk and i didn't know that she plays guitar I became a die hard fan of her at 2019 and the time she released ME! I became really addicted on her 😂
And because of her I needed to save money so that I could buy a guitar and learn to play guitar and im happy with it 💛

I have such a similar story.. My song was Back to December, and guess what, it was a cover! I too had a FB page with 14K followers which I had to abandon because of a dispute. I too played her songs on guitar to get through my high school and college. And now I watch your channel, because it feels like I am talking to Swiftie. I don't think I will be ever meet Taylor Swift, because there are so many new people who are so much vocal, and I love that because the fandom is growing but that also makes harder to be noticed. And as an adult it very difficult to present the madness, as I was able to do in my teens. But as you said, whatever is meant to be will be. Loved this video 💜. I resonate with Taylor, but I resonate with you more!
I've loved her since the beginning, but there's definitely been ups and downs. I'm older, so I loved her country stuff better mostly for a looong time. Red was my fave album, though, I thought it had such great "Rock Country" songs, with a few really fun bops. I liked 1989, but not as much--and I remember not liking Rep at all when it first came out. I kind of "came back" to her music with Folklore, and now I have a huge appreciation for her entire discography. And I've gone from probably 50-100 with Midnights! I LOVE Midnights!
I have just started listening to taylor swift in like june 2021 but now I literally have heard ALL the songs from every album and you gave me the opportunity to learn playing them it's insane🥰
I discovered Taylor Swift in the Hannah Montana Movie but did not care about her that much until I saw the 'Mine' music video in 2011 and found out that I really liked it. Through the summer of 2012 between 7th grade and 8th grade, I shuffled songs from the Speak Now and Fearless album all the time. Then, I got the debut album and then the Red album for the rest of the year and I listened to the songs several times, including deluxe songs on TH-cam. I liked her unique style of music with storytelling.
When 1989 came out, I thought partially that this is a more regular pop era but I still continued to regard her as an extraordinary artist. When she removed the songs from Spotify, I bought the 1989 album in iTunes Store so I could still listen to her music as local files and I enjoyed it.
When Reputation came out, I was shocked by Look What You Made Me Do with the aggressive vengeful style amount of easter eggs in a good way. However, the rest of the songs (except for Delicate) was not my favorites especially because she was more naughty in her songs "I did something bad, why does it feel so good?" "my drug is my baby" and that was not relatable for my sweet Christian nature.
When Lover came out, I was happy that storytelling went back and I loved the title song. This was the time when I supposed to listen to her in Roskilde Festival. Even though Covid-19 cancelled the festival, my fandom began to increase while I spent my breaks on watching old live performance and I became impressed. I watched so many videos of her 1989 concert in BST Hyde Park in London and that helped me to at least get as much of the virtual experience as possible. This made me visit the free open house version of BST two years later on the exact 7th anniversary of the 1989 concert. This experience was more low key but still awesome.
This fandom only grew when folklore, evermore and the rerecordings of Fearless and Red came out. That way she kept on making herself up to date motivated me to keep on being a fan. While I learned about toxic relationships, the All Too Well 10 minutes version and similar songs made it perfectly clear about where she has been through and I thought "Gosh!" That is how I became really impressed by her.
This impression escalated with Midnights and then the Eras Tour came out and culminated all the eras. I keep on watching the Eras Tour videos of the places that I dream of going to while hoping that I get to see her in Europe someday to especially to compensate for what I have lost in the summer 2020. That's my story as a Swiftie.

I've started learning guitar and here in Brazil all the people start to learn about brazilian songs (which I like, but not that much). And so I found your videos while I was trying to learn some of the Folklore songs and I loved it. And sunddely, I started to learn all these taylor swift songs because there has been a way to learn guitar, you know. And, after seeing so many tutorials, I just started to see other videos about you, because I think you are a musician so talented. Your video about how to write songs is very special. And now I'm watching this video and discovering how much Taylor Swift fan you are and I had no idea. So I just wanted to say that I'm here because of Nena Shelby itself. And wanna thank you so much for teaching me how to play guitar, it's been a dream I had for so long time. Like you I also wasn't a fan of Taylor Swift initially. I didn't become a fan until the original Red era. It was her duet with Ed Sheeran that made me a fan. I then had tickets to the Red Tour but stupidly sold them because I was just a casual fan. I did buy all her music a short time after though - digitally anyway. Then in the 1989 era on a whim I bought tickets to 1989 World Tour but when it came the night of the show I wasn't in the mood so almost didn't go. A friend convinced me to go so I went and she was raving about how great Sydney was and basically changed my life and I'm finally at acting school which I attribute to Taylor Swift so she is very important to me. Had it not been for the 1989 World Tour I may have left Sydney and certainly wouldn't be at acting school or have my cat. Then I went to the Reputation Stadium Tour and I'd say I became OBSESSED with Taylor during the Lover era but it's growing and growing.
I'm known as the biggest Swiftie around and am going to three shows, have all the vinyls (including one I had to replace today), all the CDs, a stack of tour posters and I buy her notebooks whenever she releases them and I use them for my acting. I've now upgraded my merch purchases to include the odd t shirt but similar to what you said in another video, I doubt I'll wear them because I'm worried about wrecking them. So like you it's become a really gradual thing. I'm also buying the book "The Clothes She Wears" which is out in December that you may be interested in.
Red is definitely my fave album, both versions, probably followed by Fearless, Debut and Midnights.

Ahh! Okay so same-same but different 😂. I will 1000% give you all the credit for knowing more about her, my passion comes from just how I feel with her songs and her lyrics and then obviously who she is as a person. But her songs just hit me SSOOO much in such a way that I can’t explain (which actually amazes me that like some people don’t feel an emotional connection with music lol they just have a “liking” for music). She came into my life right after a very traumatic time in my life, I had just moved to a different state to live with my aunt and uncle and she quite literally saved me lol. That was when I was 13 (14 years ago 😳)! I never went through that “hate t swift” phase, but I know exactly what you are talking about lol, I always loved her and stuck up for her when people were not into her😂. I am so so envious of your experiences with her!! She is the only one that I still buy CD’s of as soon as they come out. I will forever love her, through all her phases and I am SO happy that I found you 😄 I can’t even express how awesome it is to have a huge Taylor fan that actually does tutorials and CARES about how it sounds and how close it is to how she actually plays. I feel like I’ve gone from 0-100 somewhat. I am a recent swiftie…like fresh out the oven swiftie. I always liked her but I wasn’t even born when debut came out and was literally one when fearless was out. Also, I didn’t have a phone so around the Red and 1989 eras I would hear it on the radio and a bit on my moms playlist (only the most popular ones like WANGBT, 22, Shake it off which was actually the first some I ever memorized - subconsciously - blank space, wildest dreams and that was kinda it). Then it was radio silence in terms of what I heard from her until I heard delicate and LWYMMD from reputation and that was it. Now it’s 2022 and one of my friends had mentioned that they liked the song cardigan and I had heard of it in passing before so I started listening to it and it became my favorite thing ever. Then like the next day I sat down on my bed and listens to almost all of Folklore and Evermore all the way through which was new for me cause when I’m listening to something I always have to be doing something but I just lasted down and almost fell asleep. Basically from that day allllll throughout thanksgiving break just a few days later all I watched were TH-cam videos about Taylor and I was just crazy abt it. I made it my goal to listen to every single one of her songs and ik still trying to do it. Now almost all of my fav Taylor songs r on folklore and I luv her and I found your Chanel which I’m rly happy abt cause now I have this whole supply of content to watch. Anyways that’s my Taylor story.

I started to listen to Taylor when I was in college, in 2012 I think red was out and I was in my first year of college, my sister bought the CD and I remember adding the cd to my iPod. I’m a international swiftie, I’m from Costa Rica. I listen to her older albums before red when I was in high school but I was not a country fan, but you know I love mine, better than revenge, the story of us, love song and mean and other ones but I was not listening to a the entire album, but since my sister bought red I fall more in love with her music. My first concert that I’m going is the eras tour in Houston and I’m so excited. I was going to go to the rep concert but you know life happens and I couldn’t go, but now I’m so excited. I remember when she pull out all of her music for streaming services I used to buy the music, I bought all 1989 and before that that streaming services didn’t exist I used to download the music jaja you know jajaja. But yeah I’m so excited and I’m doing friendship bracelets, me in my almost 30s jajaja I’m so so exited for the concert ❤❤❤❤

I became a swiftie after evermore (I know I was so late about it) but my sister was a huge fan when lover came out and she would drive me to my violin lessons once a week and we would play miss Americana and the heartbreak prince at least 2 times on that drive so now when I think of anything having to do with music lessons or that sister I think lover ❤

So I've been a fan since Tim McGraw first drop but I didn't really hit super fan level until probably 1989. Or speak now no it was speak now. What was really cool was getting my fiance really into her. Her music has been a huge bonding point in our relationship. When we first started dating I would just send him so many Taylor Swift songs about how I felt about him. And then what's kind of crazy for me is I had somehow managed to never listen to the 1989 deluxe edition.... But then one day I was driving in my car a little over a year ago and thinking about my now fiance who I wasn't even dating at the time and just thinking about how into him I was and then you are in love came on... Which I had never heard before... Somehow.. and it just hit me all at once that I was in love with him. And I was just driving in my car and listening to the song and bawling my eyes out. And it's kind of crazy that there was a song of hers that I had missed and I didn't hear it until the exact right moment that I needed to

Hey! This is a cool video. I loved hearing your journey with Taylor. I have been a Swifty since 2006. I actually found out about her on a Billy Gilman message board. it’s hilarious now back in the day when Billy was around her age, everybody thought Billy was dating Taylor and just not talking about it. So everybody kept posting about her and I was like who is this Taylor Swift girl and if they are dating, why aren’t people leaving them alone? I heard her music around the holidays but didn’t get her album until early 2007. I’m blessed that I have the original version before the album was repackaged. I met her briefly in 2008 atCMA fest with my mom but it was super embarrassing because I was still in shock after getting trampled. I ended up being known around the festival as that blind girl who got trampled. So I told Taylor that she should write a song about how people should be more careful and pay attention because then people would be better to one another. I need a redo meet and greet!I used to have so many of her shirts but they faded over the years and sadly I don’t have that many anymore. I no longer have any from the early days. I saw her at CMA fest in 2008 like I said, open for Keith Urban once in Massachusetts for the fearless tour and then I saw Taylor for the reputation tour. My friend got to see an entire concert and I was so sad I couldn’t go to it but she called me for it. back in the early days. her music is how I survived college. All I met some nice people, I was also an outcast in college and her music kept me company. I was an English major so I love all your lyric breakdowns!
