I would do anything to go back in time to when this song was first released. I was still riding the hype from Closer and was excited for The Chainsmokers next release. After listening once I initially was hesitant because it was a different style but it quickly grew on me and became one of my favorite songs. I was 21 back then and life was literally at an all time high. I was a junior in college, I was talking to the best girl in the world at the time (future gf), working at Olive Garden, and just living life. I felt so free and so able to do anything. I would do anything to go back.

This song makes me think of just packing up my bags and leaving my boring, monotonous life behind to travel the world. Life is too short, we shouldn't take ourselves so seriously, the intense pressure to do the "normal" thing of going to college and sitting in an office job for 50 years is strong but it is not always the right decision for everyone.
I wish the Chainsmokers put out more music like this. I love their latest bangers too, but seeing this go mainstream and hearing it on repeat on the radio all the time was too good. Gives me chills just thinking about it.
I love this song. It always takes me back to my college days; I was 18 years old, pretty content with life, had big dreams, and made some great friends and great memories - it was the first and only time I've ever felt truly happy. Every time I hear this song it takes me straight back to these times; a sad yet lovely feeling.

Tbh, I'm tired of music videos with girls, their either half naked (yes being in a bikini is half naked, but with girls it reveals more/too much, than a guy.) or just revealing too much skin, as an 18yo male the struggle just to breakaway from the sexual desire is real, when I see a hot girl with a hot body it's hard to turn away and not try to get with her. A time before everyone just became filled with hate, a time before the pandemic even existed. A time when I was only a teenager, not an adult that can’t feel the innocence of my youth again. All of the memories I made with my friends that I met from my old high school, those days can’t come back. But with music videos like this, it’s like my own Time Machine, so that way I can forget all about the troubles of the outside world and reminisce how life used to be like.

I don't understand the hate on this song tbh. It's a very chill, interesting, and overall great song for what it was meant to portray. I absolutely love this song and it's slowly becoming my favorite song of theirs over Closer, which I never thought would be beaten for first place... I was proven wrong. Yeah I understand people are upset about the lack of bass drop, but imagine if they HAD done this track with a few drops, everyone would just hate and say "oh look, they're making the same type of music again". People ask for different styles and ideas on modern music, yet when artists attempt something unique and quite out of the box it just gets absolutely shut down and trashed on which makes no sense to me and probably many others as well.
Yes the amount of effort required to make this is high, but while other musicians are practicing how to make their music more representative of themselves and overall more creative, the chainsmokers practice how to make the most soulless and generic tracks possible. It's all about the looks and aesthetic of the music. It's actually kind painful to listen too, not because its catchy but because im waiting for some personality, creativity, or risk in the production and its ends up being too tight, impersonal, and boring. Also what flersive said. A lot of pop artists get big because of money. That's why they end up being so overly polished is because its seen more as a financial investment rather than actual music.
this song always reminds me of the 2017-2019 era which I have the most memories with this girl. We'd hang ou together after classes, we used sit outside my house and we'd talk for hours watching the scenery from my 8th floor, she'd lay her head on my shoulder , she would wrap herself inside my jacket as the cold breeze blew but I never had the courage to ask her out. They happened to be in New York and she was working on some stuff at a studio nearby. And the chainsmokers were like " Can you please some to our studio? We're finishing a song and it needed a little something, we just don't know what it is" So she came in and just layered some of Drew's parts and sang those different parts that you can hear on the song

I don't understand the hate on this song tbh. It's a very chill, interesting, and overall great song for what it was meant to portray. I absolutely love this song and it's slowly becoming my favorite song of theirs over Closer, which I never thought would be beaten for first place... I was proven wrong. Yeah I understand people are upset about the lack of bass drop, but imagine if they HAD done this track with a few drops, everyone would just hate and say "oh look, they're making the same type of music again". People ask for different styles and ideas on modern music, yet when artists attempt something unique and quite out of the box it just gets absolutely shut down and trashed on which makes no sense to me and probably many others as well.

Yes the amount of effort required to make this is high, but while other musicians are practicing how to make their music more representative of themselves and overall more creative, the chainsmokers practice how to make the most soulless and generic tracks possible. It's all about the looks and aesthetic of the music. It's actually kind painful to listen too, not because its catchy but because im waiting for some personality, creativity, or risk in the production and its ends up being too tight, impersonal, and boring. Also what flersive said. A lot of pop artists get big because of money. That's why they end up being so overly polished is because its seen more as a financial investment rather than actual music.

this song always reminds me of the 2017-2019 era which I have the most memories with this girl. We'd hang ou together after classes, we used sit outside my house and we'd talk for hours watching the scenery from my 8th floor, she'd lay her head on my shoulder , she would wrap herself inside my jacket as the cold breeze blew but I never had the courage to ask her out. She is now in another state pursuing her degree, we might not talk much now, but this song will always remind of the time when I was at my happiest
