This is an animation I've been working for MONTHS, actually insane for how long I've been doing this
But This is genuinely one of the coolest things and I'm proud of it! I always wanted to make an animated short :D

HI! MARU HERE, a month later I just wanna say THANK YOU !!! for so support, (like 90K views this is INSANE !!!)
And an update; If you guys weren't aware, this was my second year Final Short Film, and I passed with a full grade, a 100% for everyone to understand, SO YIPPEE !!!
I can't really say how long it will take the next animation I'm working, but, I'm working on one , that's for sure !

“I think we’re soulmates and you’re to busy chasing fairies” is something I would expect to be said in the emotional climax of some sort of fantasy novel, but no it was a last life quote…
this reminds me of fanfics having really deep quotes that youd think are from Shakespeare but are actually from a naruto fic
But no it was said in a block game smp with a bunch of adult men (and woman)

Scar is the absolute best for one of two reasons:
1: He's sweet enough not to notice Grian being a JERK to him
2: He's SNARKY enough to pretend not to notice Grians gripe and make Grian say it to his face. Great job this animation is super good!!

grian wasn't being a jerk, he screamed no because he was scared of getting out. it wasn't a scream of 'i don't want to be with him' but a scream of fear. Scar just poked fun at it to put him on the spot.
If they weren't real people which makes it kinda weird and creepy to do, I would totally ship Grian and Scar

For every other animation or animatic I’ve seen that line has always come across as “I fell down and panicked”

Huh, I always thought he said, "i felt." Like he was about to say, 'I felt like yelling,' or 'I felt sad for no reason,' or something.
If we consider the 3rd Life ending, then the idea of "I fell for you" works even better

The fact that Grians eyes were covered when he was with Joel and uncovered when he was with Scar is just adorable!! Also I really love this!

I also like the nod to 3rd life at the end, with Scar being red and Grian being green. They were soulmates back then and they're still soulmates now.

I remember seeing a wip of this on tumblr and I was astounded, now you have absolutley blown me away!!! Its absolutely GORGEOUS!! I love the backgrounds, Grian's design, and the way you animate Scar has such a cheeky allure to him!
This is like a cartoon you'd find on an actual network!! I love the detail that Grian's eyes are only shown when he tells Scar to "look at him"....... that is so fricking cute
I love how Scar is always just so focused on having fun and not about the actual challenges that he’s just like a child wandering in the woods that everyone else has to worry about

I literally love everything about this. The smoothness in Joel's laugh and everything in general, everyone's designs, the casual bread hand off, the blushing at the end. Everything is adorable. Excellent work!

gods I love double life, i love desert duo, and i love every single goddamn thing about this animation, from the character designs to music choices to tiny effects like the allay’s glow. the atmosphere is perfect and Scar + Grian have unintentionally created such a fantastic and tragic story right here

I love the fact that you made scar drop his cane when the rock hits him. Thats such a small detail, but I like it.
With the animation it feels a lot more like a bromance than I would've expected.

You captured the moments so well! You have such an incredible knack for expressions, not to mention the absolutely STUNNING scenery! The atmosphere you capture in each scene is pure eye candy! Wonderful animations like this makes me wish that a group took the audio from each of the Life series seasons and made an animated show out of it. I feel like the Life series is one that could really lend itself to something like that. There is so much story.

This is AMAZING!! absolutely BRILLIANT. I love the expressions and detail. It’s all so fluent. And I don’t know if it’s just to display emotion or grian being more comfortable around scar, but he covered his eyes with his lil head wings at the start near joel but when it was just the two of them he didn’t
