This is great, but the thing I felt it was missing was how to do drivebys. But sometimes I just get out manuvered and end up giving too much broadside, sometimes because I'm trying to not get rammed. Is there any strategy to that kind of play?
I avoid drivebys if i can help it. Everyone goes for the ram, and a 1 for 1 trade is usually really good for the enemy and very bad for me. I could talk about it in another video but if the other guy wants to ram it almost doesn't matter what you do. He will ram you. Does Pommern actually need IFHE to pen 32mm of armor with her secondaries? I thought the gimmick of german BBs was, that their secondaries already did that without IFHE.
Nice video. Just found you. Even though I'm a DD main I love playing brawling BBs and I learn new things thanks to you. Btw, what team panel mod are you using?
I know this video was about brawling/secondary battleships, but I was wondering how you build them. Secondary skills usually conflict directly with survivability skills: BFT, IFHE, Manual, or AFT vs BoS, FP, and CE. Do you go full secondaries or do you like to go a hybrid approach? And do you find that the secondaries module' extra range helps more than the turret rotation module? Also, how do you feel about French battleships and their crazy secondary range?
What annoys me is just how quick the younger generation can type and play simultaneously. If only I could communicate as fast it would improve my gameplay. Loved that exchange at the end, the guy was pissed, lol.
I've noticed a trend where "most" veteran players use mainly HE at the beginning to start fires for easy XP. Since there's an unlikely slim chance of you killing another BB/Cruiser from AP salvos from 12km+.
Each main gun has it's own RNG for dispersion, you can expect for every 3-4 salvos, 1-2 will be near to complete misses. So it's best to vary the placement of your reticle for every shot, I am working on IJN T7 w/ 50% salvo accuracy.
I'm learning to not use AP when my rounds are deflected against multiple BBs & cruisers repeatedly. I have a tendency of continuing using AP in "hopes" of getting massive dmg. This is a bad mentality; it's like gambling in lottery. I've learned to tank against 5 ships shooting at me from two flanks.
Actually as a battleship player I first observe if there are any other big ships at the side I spawned at and whether there are any islands aghead to hide behind. THEN I decide whether to go there or switch sides. Yes, your teammates may not be happy with you leaving your post but fuck them, they don't fucking pay maintenance of your ship after the battle. So you as a battleship should think primarily about your own survival. Because make no mistake, all those destroyers and light cruisers will happily ditch you and let you die when fired upon by a group of enemies. This is even more important than normal if you play big but slow battleships like me with powerful guns (Vermont line). Because this means you cannot get the hell outta there like Iowas can.
I was in a match before with potato, i was in thunderer, he was in ohio, and we had the puerto rico 7th directive mad lad, fragmentation in an audacious, on 2 brothers. We were in the same team. We won easily, potato just rushed mid and basically got away.
Just found your vid, I started playing this a month or so ago. Great vid. I’ve noticed sometimes you can’t hardly even move you have to just back up if you are in a big ship. I’ve moved forward and gone maybe 10Km and I’m spotted and on my way to be dead. Is that common?
Generaly it is :D There is so much to learn about capital ships (BBs). And the higher you get, the harder it can be. In lower tier all you need to learn is angling and where to shoot. Afterwards (hundreds of battles) you start to know WHERE to shoot on ships and how to aim to hit there more often. Great for training are IJN BBs with their big guns, so you punish for more and as you usually spec them for accuracy, they don´t miss too often or too much. And ships like Kongo (T5), Fuso (T6) and Nagato (T7) are beasts with AP shells in right hands and those are tiers that you should learn to play and clap enemies -> in Fuso and Nagato you can play scenarios for credits+xp and lots of (not-so-dumb-as-coop-bots) target and armour practice. If you want to try penetration and damage on each ship as a static model, just pres "Training" as a battle type, put a map "Ocean", mode "armour test" (or how it is called) and put as much BBs as you want to in that battle, I recommend 2 of each kind of your tier for a start and next time higher tiers (all you can encounter). They will stand there angled slightly and you can play for and hour or so with your guns and see where it will do most damage, which ship you can citadel easily and which not, ... etc. Really valuable lesson tbh. This way you will also get to know weaknesses of your ship type and will know WHAT to protect. Knowing the above about BBs you will learn exactly what to shoot/protect. Then comes this video from above about positioning, as long as having a 5 ships shooting you at the same time is a generally bad situation and you will always try to put some islands/distance between you and most of the enemy ships, so you can fight less enemies possible (1 is the preferable number). Brawling or Sniping (or Mid-range) is then dependent on the ship´s accuracy, armour, etc.
This is the reason for an increase in lemming-trains :( Wouldn't it be better if the Yamato and Conq went with you to A to secure the crossfire and flank?
You go to the side that you spawned at unless you’re facing the main enemy fleet and everyone on your fleet ran the other way and left you flapping in the wind.
The reason you get focussed by aircraft is because you are vulnerable to fires and have relatively weak deck armour in the German BB you're perfect for AP and HE bombs and most HE rockets will start fires on you too. Plus your AA Suite is unreliable as a solo ship. However the rest of this video is life to be because I love secondary BB's I feel like pushing and damaging multiple enemy ships with your aura of intimidating secondary fire is how battleships 'should' be played in WoWS for fun games.

I could've dealt at least 50% more dmg to at least two ships of the five if I switched to HE. Instead of tanking shots for three minutes from 5 ships.
PQ, who do you know that does DD videos, like your education BB videos? Thanks for the content!
I was in a match before with potato, i was in thunderer, he was in ohio, and we had the puerto rico 7th directive mad lad, fragmentation in an audacious, on 2 brothers. We were in the same team. We won easily, potato just rushed mid and basically got away.
It’s better to focus two caps than to split your forces to try all three.
Hi! I was wondering how did you managed to move the navigator interface away from the center beneath the crosshair. Thanks
Just found your vid, I started playing this a month or so ago. Great vid.
I’ve noticed sometimes you can’t hardly even move you have to just back up if you are in a big ship. I’ve moved forward and gone maybe 10Km and I’m spotted and on my way to be dead. Is that common?
Generaly it is :D
There is so much to learn about capital ships (BBs).
A guy can’t get a lucky break. That sov guy should appreciate a good shot like that. I would. +1 to you!
This is the reason for an increase in lemming-trains :( Wouldn't it be better if the Yamato and Conq went with you to A to secure the crossfire and flank?
That khaba at 16:37 is from our clan any suggestions?
Theres always ultimate admiral dreadnoughts for those that want to try others
Well played ...
You go to the side that you spawned at unless you’re facing the main enemy fleet and everyone on your fleet ran the other way and left you flapping in the wind.
Nice music as well, whats the name?
Video idea, what do you do when 1/3 or more if the team dies in 2-3 min. How do you claw back that?
alt + f4
0:42 especially when you 're in a giant sandwich, like a kurrywurst.
Great video!...
Thanks
An d now id like to know how you do it with a ship that doesnt have a 500+ mm main battery that can deal with everything :D
I like these style vids - revisiting this to try and help me get better! Thanks
great video!
How do you get the team ships and stats to show like that on the screen?
Also this video was amazing. You should force everyone to watch it..haha
In that part with too soon push with GK he literally showed ME sometimes doing the same (when see we are loosing and then just charge like moron).
,,some maps sucks from islands" what about Ocean map , pls make a video how to deal with this map pls
What mods are you using ? i like the angle icon
modstation - navigator
The reason you get focussed by aircraft is because you are vulnerable to fires and have relatively weak deck armour in the German BB you're perfect for AP and HE bombs and most HE rockets will start fires on you too. Plus your AA Suite is unreliable as a solo ship.
However the rest of this video is life to be because I love secondary BB's I feel like pushing and damaging multiple enemy ships with your aura of intimidating secondary fire is how battleships 'should' be played in WoWS for fun games.
CVs haven't focused battleships since the rework. They are focusing your screen name.
Step one. Push in while team hides and get melted. Step two, turn around and hide with your team
What Japan ship do you recommend using
That's all and good in tier 10, but how about lower tier brawling guides?!?
I'm just here to learn what a "secondary battleship" is an how to identify them in the tech tree
So now, guide on how to brawl in Slava because i still want to be useful for my team and improve, pretty please? =D
what's your ribbon texture mod
What crosshair do you use? Cant find it
how can i get that hit icon mod?
fabulous
