I’ve seen a 54 cm black bream come out of the Blackwood on a purple zonker strip fly, but it was probably 30 odd years ago now by an Augusta local. It was taken off a snag in the creek past Dennis Lilly’s house behind the rubbish tip at East Augusta - the creek drains Swan Lake into the Estuary - so a lot of bait & food gets swept out of the lake on big tidal changes. Obvious prime lie for probably the biggest black bream in the Blackwood. I used to run Blackwood Fly Fishing tours on the Blackwood & Donnelly rivers back in the day. Likely about when you were born. 😂😂
