Exploring an Aircraft Crash Site in the Yuma Arizona Desert

  • I rode my Polaris RZR XP1000 side-by-side to an aircraft crash site on the Barry M Goldwater Range (BMGR) in the desert southeast of Yuma Arizona. A majority of the unknown aircraft type was removed, and If you didn't know it was there, you may just pass right by it. But when you start looking around, you begin to notice bits and pieces of aluminum, fiberglass, and wiring. And the more you look, the more you start to notice things like pieces of the landing gear and electronics boxes.
I then hiked up a canyon to search for something I found on Google Maps. The search led me on a crazy scramble up a wall of the canyon to see what I believe to be a discarded military training device.
Footage shot on January 6-13, 2024 using Nikon D850 and GoPros Hero 11 and 8.

I love the desert...have been around Yuma a bit. Thank you. The part at the end showing where you went is interesting to see.

Liked the video ! You're in pretty good shape judging by how you climbed around those rocks . I used to do that too ... 30 years ago LOL . Any information on the wreckage , military aircraft maybe ?

Thanks for watching! More than likely a military aircraft, since it is on a military training range. There are some aircraft crash site databases online, but this one is not included on any...

That looks like an old hang glider, wonder if it wasn’t looking for something. Sure like the hike!

I think it's a training device of some kind. I've since seen another in the next valley over.. Thanks for watching!
