Rafael should've won. His collection was amazing, smart, colorful, interesting and yet SO wearable!

I’m happy for Yannik that his hard-work paid off, but like come one. His designs are so weird, impractical how many people would wear those? Rafael, Jeannette and Georgia had way better designs many consumers would actually buy! The judges have some bad tastes, let’s start with Heidi’s personal style

Totally agree! I think this is my last time watching this show. A kid could have thought of making pants upside down and that's accessible? I could see him winning for a different show that wasn't suppose to cater to the masses. But really? and really not taking away from his expertise however this was NOT the show for that. Rafael clearly needed to win, but oh well. In the world of fashion one day you're in and the next day your'e out. And Im out! when it comes to wasting my time watching this again. Just a major disappoitment. Smh

@@respecthewoman exactly! I’m just really surprised that investors we were willing to fund something that won’t potentially sell when others clearly had ready customers wanting their designs. No disrespect to Yannik and his craft, I just don’t think it appeals to the mass. It’s so bizarre, but this is how we know talented designers rarely get a chance.

Won't watch this show again. You can tell who's going to win by episode 3 because the winner is always highlighted more than the other contestants. Been that way since beginning of show. It's sad.

So true! It didn't even make sense how they were so captivated by his clothes/art bc most of them didn't make sense or were no't wearable! N then they had the nerves to tell Rafael his clothes are chosen for the Amazon accessible store? So if they felt his clothes would produce revenue ...why didn't he win?! Make it make sense

Even if it gets renewed, I will not waste my time watching this particular show again. The judges (and I use that term loosely) have apparently decided to always pick as winners the designers with the least talent who produce designs with the least wear ability. No one I know would ever be caught in any of that nonsense. It's all ugly and non flattering to anyone.

I won't watch again if Jeremy Scott is on. I haven't liked him in the previous two seasons and his "emotional rant" this season was nothing but a hissy fit because he was bored with the designers' work. Instead of listening to the ALL the contestants that they needed more time -- and they ALL said they did -- he made it about himself.

Out of the 3 in the finale, Rafael should have won -- they were looking for the "next global brand" and Rafael showed the most potential. Truthfully, Jeanette was the best of them all and they kept her out of the final 3. Very disappointed and completely unfulfilling. I wish Yannik well but I don't think we will ever hear from him again.

I'm not a fashion expert by any means ...and I appreciate Yannick mission and I dare say unique style as a designer, but it's too far out there, nothing flattering or innovative in any practical way. One of his outfits was nothing more than an oversized button down shirt. Compared to Georgia and Raphael, who sent down beautiful garments, especially Raphael
I don't know why the panel woukd choose Ysnnick the winner over either of them is baffling. I can understand wanting to bring a unique perspective, but there is a fine line between between unique and weird strange and I dare say for the most part unwearable .
Definitely leaves me scratching my head what the heck is the agenda hear. Are we choosing the most weird and outrageously ridiculous fashion or a fashion designer that will actually design and markets cloths for sale. Very very weird I want the old project runway back😊

. I really like him overall, but there were a lot of references to Margiela through the show from him, from the first look in the first episode, the deconstructed black trench coat from the funeral episode, the blanket winter piece from the winter episode to the upside down pants and and masks from the final, not to mention the finale look the shirt is a concept down by Margiela as well. On his business pitch he mention that his clothes come folded as an envelope and you wash it then it becomes a shirt/dress. Margiela did this concept as well back in the 90’s. I’m not hating on the winner, I think he is very talented but if you study fashion history you can clearly see the strong references or should I say straight copies of what margiela has done on the past 80-90’s to the present Margiela with Galliano, this is not new and I don’t know why all judges or Tim mention this, is clear and you can see all this references if you know your fashion history

This seemed like a fixed selection. Heidi was too obvious in showing Yannik preference. Yannik even though I wish him the best , the designs were something that appears most people would not wear. I was rooting for Jeanette but Rafael has beautiful designs as well.

Yannik was not the best designer of season 3! His clothing for the runway show was not something most people would buy. There were much better designers on the show and I felt that it was a fixed finale. I see why he could not get a break in his country because his clothing is not suitable for the masses.

Why I stopped watching Project Runway, lives on. The ridiculous expectations still survive... plus a weird observable bias...
Jeanette was robbed. Unwearable white sheets guy finds tie-dye and OMG "...he's a genius, so forward (to where?) thinking, ahead of fashion... and OMG he discovers color." Tri-color dye splattered sweats...
BTW, Clothes have to be worn in the real world. Jeanette made beautiful, flattering, wearable designs which loved the human form. She'll be discovered, b'cuz she celebrates and enhances beauty and doesn't cover it in asymmetry to mock it.

I like Yannik . But his work is runway only. Happy that amazon recognized that Raphael is actually a marketable brand. Heidi is so irritatingly bias one she picks a favorite they could create total scraps and still push through. I thought this was about marketable products, why is marketable also thrown away on these runways. Shame

Yannik was so mediocre in my opinion. However this day in age fashion and design has gone a bit minimal and basic. Like you rarely see color anymore, so Yannik winning kinda made sense, even if he wasn't my favorite.

Y’all are so clearly stuck in your idealized version of what fashion should be, the reason Yannik won is bc he was the only one who was really looking at what the future of fashion should be. And because he understood his brand and was able to make it translate to amazon even though its the complete anti-thesis of who he is as a designer. He was able to take feedback better than anyone else and made a killer pitch to amazon even though he was rejected so many times in the past.
Yannik is the kind of designer that GenZ are going to crazy over with genderless clothing and sustainability at the forefront. Amazon clearly knew who had most potential in making them money going into a future where GenZ will be the primary consumer. He deserve it, plus no one is asking you to dress entirely in his shit, a lot of his pieces are a accessible to incorporate into your own style
Don’t get me wrong, I loved Rafael’s stuff it’s extremely fun and he is selling a dream. The problem is that he’s still young and figuring out what his brand is. He needed the mentorship more while Yannik was better equipped to hit the ground running with the million dollars as the next global brand. Rafael may have lost the money but he still arguably got what would make him grow most out of the experience

I am glad Yannik won but i would be happy too if Rafael won, as Rafael has a clear vision of his brand, his stuffs are exciting, yet still wearable. I honestly was concerned, because Making The Cut tend to choose an extremely commercial-looking brand as the winner. S1 Johnny Cota was great but i felt Sander and Esther to be more exciting. S2 Andrea doesn't even have a distinctive DNA and was bland af. Yannik is FINALLY someone winning Making The Cut with a unique design POV..although i'm afraid he's too Margiela-esque..
