I actually really love seeing you have to figure out new ways to get around the world's in SM64! I know it feels boring or wrong to not be able to do those things, but some of the solutions you come up with are great, and it's awesome seeing you have to think in the fly like that!
The THI Secrets star was especially great to watch, when you went from "this is impossible, there's no way to get up there" to actually going the dev-intended route. It was great to watch, because so few people even go that route that even big speedrunners forget it even exists.
It's just really cool to see! I know you seemed like you weren't having a ton of fun with it, but from a viewer perspective, I just wanted you to know, I did like watching the new on-the-fly routing you were doing.

(commenting not having finished the video, just in case its referenced later in the video) but the badgeless fly and the random fly point being fortree was legitimately required for progression i think. the random fly point needed to be fortree or lilycove, there would be no way to access right side hoenn otherwise. S.S. Ticket and Balance badge were both right side hoenn, so you could never have surfed over and there was no way to boat over. just an interesting thing i noticed
(replying also not finished the video) doesnt he play with the setting to be able to bike over some surf spots to be able to take power away from surf
@@yoitszaitz he did in this one, but this was the first video i had seen of his that used the setting but even then, he didn't get the acro bike until fairly late, i think the only unblocks were fly and mach bike
I am curious if Chris simply forgot the normal way to get the 1up in the CCM slide room, or if he didnt want to bother with doing the slide again to get it. (use the shortcut)
i think its way better content with these mario settings
that way you cant just shotgun through all of mario and do the rest after you actually have to switch games way more often! :)

Edit, Me another day later: "this is the second channel and it took falling asleep to the vid twice to realize..."
Also big shoutout to the modders who had to decide which stars were in logic with what moves, that's a huge effort!
Worth noting that AP will never generate a Sphere 1 where you can't get any checks, so there was definitely one star you could get to in big boo's haunt with not moves.
I'm usually playing with 0% progression balancing though
