looks really adorable ! I've also bred a cat kind of russian blue. but I can't confirm whether it is one of russian blues or korats. do you know the way to distinguish between russian blue and korat?
Hello Jeong, I would say that the RB has a much thicker coat and more pointy ears, it also has a longer, more 'angular' shaped face, and its eyes don't go as round when it is in full 'hunting / interested' mode. It is also generally a slightly larger cat. The korat is more 'middle sized to small' and has a very soft (silky soft), single coat, lying very close to the body, and which can even stand up on the spine when the cat sits up. The korat's hair can in fact stand up on the ridge of its spine when he gets very excited, together with the fluffy tail. The Korat has rounded ears and eyes with a slant at rest but which become very prominent when he becomes interested in something. Mostly, a Korat is very sensitive to noises and is very quick to respond to it. they are like a shadow to you in the house, as they are so curious and incredibly devoted and loyal to their owner. Each Korat will have their 'own person' in the family. They can be chatty but not too noisy (unlike the Siamese for instance). They are total heat seekers who love nothing but to cuddle up with you under the duvet! they are very fast, playful and clever. I could go on for hours about these cats! please watch my last video, and you will see what good friends korats are!
Catherine Tew, Thank you for your message with full of kindness. Infact, I live with two russian blue. But as I just read your explanation, it is more likely that one is more smiliar to korat than russian blue. Whether or not, He is still my good friend :) I'll watch your videos one by one whenever I can spare time. Have a good weekend!
Hello again Jeong, I have a page on facebook called Naamjai Korats. You might like to visit it..there are literally thousands of photos of my Korats, where you will see that they do all look slightly different. also lots of pics of other people's korats and of other breeds I see when I go to show...There is a theory out there that the blue gene from the Korats was 'exported' from Thailand to Russia to help build the gene pool for the Russian Blues. Blue is a rare naturally occuring gene in nature.
Sorry, Hue Hue, I have only just seen your comment! Korats are the best! There are not many breeders in the world so your sister is very lucky to be owned by Maki/Macky! I miss breeding but might go back to it later on in my life, when my children have 'flown the nest'!
