Well, it's been a while since my last videos on this channel. But, hey, i'm back with new exciting projects ! To begin, here is a classic AMV on my favorite Ace Attorney character: Godot ! Enjoy ;)

How poetic that just as Godot is unable to see Red on White, he was unable to stop Redd White.
I knew Godoy not being able to see Redd White was a meme but I didn't think of it like that holy shit

This video perfectly captures Diego’s story and why he’s one of the best ace attorney characters. It’s a shame a lot of people only see him as an asshole and ignore the character arc he goes through.

Actually, there are a lot of people that love Godot, it's just the idiots who hate him are noisy sjws. They look bigger than they are just because they make a lot of noise
Bruh I just finished the trilogy a few days ago and out of all the characters, Godot is the one I truly liked the most, how could someone actually hate him? From the way he made his first appearance to the end of the fifth case I thought he was truly the goat... It's such a shame that he doesn't get to appear in more games, but its understandable, that was the perfect end of his character arc

Edgeworth is also not bad... All male prosecutors ( except Winston Payne ) in all the Pheonix Wright Ace Attorney games are good.
edgeworth IS the best prosecutor, Godot was both a defense attorney and prosecutor so he's not categorized as "just a prosecutor"

Godot's backstory has never failed to make me cry. And of course, I bawled watching this.
This was absolutely PERFECT and I loved it. But honestly, I think the music's volume should be a little lower, and the vocals be a little higher. I had a hard time hearing what was said in spots.

And that's true, the sound quite mess up sometimes, so i was kind of frustrated to not be able to correct it in the same video ! Maybe one day i'll remake it with more clarity, but i will be careful in my next videos 😁

@@koregan84 I felt like it was fine at the start. It felt like the music was starting to swell to emphasize the moments, but then it got so loud it almost completely drowned out the voices. Regardless, it was still a great showing of Godot's character. This video got me caring about him more than I did in the game.

Alright, but can we please understand how much pain and frustration Godot has been in...? He was the victim in a poisoning which left him in a coma for years, during that time, he never got to see his Mia become one of the best attorneys out there. When he woke up, he realized Mia had gone, and he couldn't do anything about it because he was in a coma, he felt so much pain and he needed someone to pin his guilt on. He blamed Wright for not protecting Mia when he had the chance, and he had dreams of winning against Wright in court to take "revenge" on him, but when he saw Mia live through him, he was shocked. He realized that he could forgive Wright, but he couldn't forgive himself. He was chasing a fantasy this entire time, and it must have been painful to realize that Wright is not responsible, instead, he realized how arrogant he was being, and how he ran away from Mia's death, and he realized that Wright picked up where she left off.
The woman he loved died because he was put in a coma, he quickly pinned the blame on Wright, because he worked with Mia. He desperately tried to win against Wright in court so he doesn't feel weighed down by Mia's death anymore, but that was when he realized how arrogant he was. Now, he'll probably have to stay in prison for years now.
That ending was amazing.
Also, your video is so amazing, it brought tears to my eyes for someone who doesn't even exist.

He did see Mia again though, when Pearls channeled her, I'm happy he had the chance to see her being an ace attorney again.
I actually think he won the death penalty, since he admitted that he wanted to kill that person (either directly or indirectly, ending the life of Maya's mother)

Why Godot will always be my favorite character of this beautiful and amazing series. He took it beyond a mere game. Such a tremendous character who changed a series for a me. He is the reason I love the Ace Attorney series so much.
Yes, i also think that Godot is the pinnacle of Ace Attorney characters ! Still, there are so many outsanding characters with an excellent writing in the rest of the series ! One of my favorite fictionnal universe, for sure ;)

Its incredible to think that the mantras that keep phoenix going (especially in the anime) all come from godot, and in the end he's not appeared since the 3rd game and he's only had one small reference in PWvsPL

I follow his words. “The only time someone can cry, is when it’s all over.” You can’t win everything, and that’s apart of life, but you gotta take the bad with the good. Love those moments where you’re happy, and cry when you’re sad, but give every part of life your all. Never give up on your goal or your life.
Just finished trials and tribulations. Godot is my most favorite character out of all 3 games. Even though he was a murderer, he was still a good person. This video is so sad :(

I just finished the original trilogy for the first time last night. I damn sure wasn't ready to handle this, not even a little
love how godot intentionally prolonged the trial to the point truth leaks as obvious and naked as it is. even despite the fact the ultimate stake was his own life.
he knew he deserves punishment and could not live on knowing he's murderer. i guees if something defines true man is responsibility for his own act. he didn't ran off and take the blame he deserved while atmey, furio or dahlia to the end stayed pathetitic, lying, inresponsible criminals. love it!
despite the fact he was douche and evil guy from most of the game, his seek for redemption came to fruition in the end. admirable guy you can easly empathise as a human being.
it easier to call someone murderer than actually put on sb's shoes. the final wisdom, ultimate goal of the game was to explore and present imprefection of humans' nature; which is the most universal and undeniable truth you can get from ANY good piece of art
Even after I finished the trilogy, I still get chills from that last trial. This is amazing.

I just completed playing the original game trilogy, and oh my god, Diego was the character I didn't liked in the beginning, but then... Then I fell in love with his story. It is just amazingly heartbreaking.
Ace Attorney is just one of these games that have amazing characters both in design and their personalities. That's why I love it so much!
Ace Attorney universe really have a background of complex and goofy characters !

@@venade9997 No, not exactly. The poison turned him blind, so that wouldn't alter his appearance. But he did receive a dagger blow to the face that went right through his mask, damaging his eyes physically. The creators of the game/anime obviously could not show such a big wound.
Godot makes me insane in the best way and this captured that perfectly.

Je trouve que l'histoire de godot est très touchante. Après avoir joué à ace attorney j'ai compris tout cela et après les gens disent que hunter est le procureur le plus développé. Merci d'avoir fait cette vidéo qui résume l'histoire de godot (sachant que dans le jeux c'est beaucoup plus long) et merci pour la traduction française.

This would make an exciting trailer for a movie
I remember crying at around the same time while playing T&T and watching the anime. I don't usually cry while watching TV or movies and ESPECIALLY not video games, but man that backstory and the just the end of the game in general just hit me like a ton of bricks.
Saving Fragrance of Dark Coffee until that scene in the anime was...holy crap. I was wondering if/when they were gonna play it and eventually didn't think it was gonna happen but when it did, I just lost it and started bawling.
It kinda hurts just how little references, if any, Godot gets outside of the only game he was in. It doesn't really do him justice considering how much of an influence he had, even indirectly on phoenix.

I don't understand why some people don't like Godot. I think he is one of not many prosecutors that fought for truth, not for winning (Like von Karma, or early Edgeworth).

Diego and Mia are my favorite couple in fiction. Are they particularly remarkable? No? Is their story sad as hell? Hell yes.
He lost his life almost but he enjoyed his coffee down to the last brew.

and its great in some way feel pain for this.
Im trying to get that some of my friends play this games, this is so great but they just dont understand this, and sometimes i feel weird for felling pain for a character, someone that does´nt exist. but it tells so much how the stories can give you so much emotions and thats why this makes me happy after all.
I can´t express how this make me feel pain and how much I love the GODOT character now, i swear that if i play the game again i would cry like in the very first time

I'd love for you to make a presentation video of Dahlia or Dahlia/Iris. Theirs stories is terrible, there would be something to say and do. And Dahlia is THE most deceitful and fascinating antagonist of the game with a great background !

I said this on another video, but I've gotta say it here, too.
Here's my take on it:
I went into Trials and Tribulations knowing NOTHING and I mean NOTHING about the story or characters. So when Godot showed up in the second case I was like "who's this weird ass coffee guzzler with the visor?", like anyone would.
THEN, I got to Bridge to the Turnabout and it elevated him from a one dimensional coffee drinker to a god damned Shakespearean tragedy. I felt EVERYTHING this guy had been through and understood the extremes he went to. Did that make it right? No.
But because of all that, Godot ended up being my favorite character.

I have found this a couple years ago, and I still come back from time to time to rewatch it when I’m feeling down. Thank you for this edit, it’s a fitting and masterful retelling of Godot’s story.

Godot was at heart a good man. Playing/watching his story made me feel his pain. And the final case amplified that pain. I finished t&t hoping he would get a good ending.
Out of all the characters in the ace attorney series, Godot always has top spot, his act, his design and his backstory, it’s perfect.
He is indeed a wonderfully well written character !
