Thank you for this video. I did not realize that I had such a fear of singing in front of others. I used to play alot of music with friends but we always had this one friend that would sing all the time effortlessly. We called him the songbird and everyone was way more comfortable singing around him because it was so easy for him. Without having that friend around has been a huge difference but this video has pointed out some key things for me to focus on.
Great thanks so much for this advise. I've been singing for years but am always so anxious that I rarely give a good performance. I'm always worrying about that high note that is coming up or if I will forget the words. I massively over prepare but it's not enough to give me confidence. Listening to this I now realise that my fear of performing is really all about my fear of what others think. I've always had this so it's not surprising that this will also be present when I'm performing. This is what I need to work on. I will also try the positive visualisation.
Every time there is karaoke at my program I want to sing on the mic 🎤 but I end up singing along while playing table tennis 🏓. I can sing like myself comfortably without being in my head over self conscious. I seriously need to practice these meditations hopefully I have the courage some day to sing at karaoke without getting scared. Today I improved a little and I at least held the mic 🎤 so that was a step but holding the mic actually calmed my mind and allowed me to listen to my heart more. It was nice playfully singing as a group or pair so it was a step worth noting but I know I can give it my all just got to keep going at my pace. Thank You So Much, for this video 🎶🤍🎶 it reminded me not to be hard on myself just be human don’t seek elite perfection. Singing is a fun and healing instrument.
The things I write are just soo precious to me I don't want to song them in front of anyone. I have the fear of them laughing or making fun of me calling me names.. I've dealt with that when I was much younger than I am now.. people making fun of me because of who I am naturally... it hurts a lot still
I samf and even took lessons as a kid and even competed and won first in the state. But as I got older I realized just singing wasn’t enough and I needed to perform the song -not flatly hit the notes. That makes me way too vulnerable. I feel stupid and my voice closes. I’m now 45 and always have sang a lot alone, but am considering attempting coming out of my shell. It takes such courage. Yikes.
i have to do a solo in my schools choir on the 21st and everytime i sing in front of people my voice shakes so bad and what makes it worst is that i have to sing with a mic, im really nervous and i dont know what to do at all to fix it
Yeah, unfortunately I’m a put my Bluetooth speaker on in the shower and sing behind a curtain kinda guy lol. I laugh but it’s been tearing me up inside for years!!! Especially coming from a family of entertainers and singers. My parents and siblings all wish I would just come out of my shell because they’ve all accidentally heard me on a recording I have made of myself in private of course lol. I just can’t and I’ve been regretting it for so many years and now my dad is gone and I feel like I let him down and continue to let everyone else down. 🤷🏻♂️🙏🏼 idk I hope someday I can feel comfortable and just let my voice be heard.
i’m auditioning for wednesday for the addams family and for auditions we have to sing. and we obviously have to sing on stage. and if i get the role, the spotlight will be on me. that’s too much, but i really want to get the role.
