Sir, you said convertible debentures comes under embedded derivative and in embedded derivative we separate derivative from non derivate contract and do accounting accordingly but before this when u taught compound financial instruments accouting at that time also there was convertible debentures in whicg we use to derive values of FL and equity components.... So my doubt is how can we identify whether the question wants us to do derivative accounting or compound FI accounting?
I had the same doubt but in video somewhere at 11:30 sir clarifies this... Compound Fin Instr is pov of issuer and embedded derivative is pov of holder of instr. I hope this helps 😊
