      Thanks! I ordered all of the parts from the online parts counter that Thunder Chrysler in Bartow, FL runs. They had the best prices.

    Piss on this car. I'm in the middle of the same job on an 04. Nice video and work bro. I was able to get the get the cam gear bolts out without pulling the cams. It may be a wasted effort. We'll see if I can swap the Seals without having to pull the cams

    thx for the video! Doing the same work myself after head gasket replacement on my 4.0L to stop coolant from getting into cyl 4. Just curious if you had any leaks from behind timing cover or cam thrust plates after assembly?

    • @stratplaya06
      @stratplaya06  ปีที่แล้ว

      I haven’t noticed any. Certainly no coolant is leaking. I do have a power steering leak from where the rubber hoses meet the metal fittings, be careful around them when you are removing the crank pulley. I have replaced them with aftermarket lines but they are of a lower quality compared to the OEM hoses (which are no longer available). I was considering doing the head gaskets but at only 90k miles I decided to leave them for now. Thanks for watching and let me know if you have any other questions about the job!

      @@yosoydpfknr2855 I bought the seals at my local Chrysler dealer. Not sure if they sell them on Amazon. Check the other comments for the part numbers you need, it’s two of one and one of the other.

    Hi, i have a question about the rear timing cover waterpump seal. The main one is (4659430AB) and for me fits right in and im guessing the two side ones are (4483443). The old ones came caked out like yours but the new ones are o-ring that seem slightly too big and pop out. Im using the wrong part number? Or is there some way they fit? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

      @stratplaya06  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey. Your part numbers are indeed correct for all three seals. The two smaller o-rings seemed a bit big for me too but once I cleaned out the recesses well (I needed to scrape out a lot of rust/coolant residue) they slipped in (and stayed in) without issue. I recommend using dielectric grease on all of the seals as described in the factory service manual. I think the grease helped to adhere them to the cover and allow them to uniformly fit inside the slots. Hope that helps!

      @@stratplaya06 Thanks so much. Funny enough the people in my local dodge parts department weren't 100% of that was the right part. Mine is pretty crusty as well but I didn't think cleaning would make too much a difference. I couldn't find the part that would arrive in less then a week and dodge was charging about $30 a seal so I wanted to make sure this was the right part and you're the only one so far that could tell me with certainty. Thanks again man

      @cristianbarata6055 Glad to help! I feel like most people replace the timing belt and water pump (thinking that’s where the leak is coming from) but don’t address the actual problem, which are these seals. There wasn’t much information out there about them which is why I made the video showing some of the additional work required. Absolutely worth the effort while you’re in there. Hope your repair goes as well as mine did, let me know if you have any other questions!
