Heidi has such positive soul, she finds something bright in whatever dire circumstance she encounters..I just love that about her I wish more people had her outlook on life🥰
Heidi, what a nightmare. Good on you for pushing through. The cormorants were hilarious, l thoroughly enjoyed the segment and your humour. Adriana captured you beautifully. You are a beautiful soul ❤️
I remember days of yesteryear, drinking rum, with such good cheer. My time has passed, while now I'm old. my days at sea were strong and bold. So now it's time, to sit and see, it's Heidi now the one at sea. I wait to watch it every week, a boat so long, and just so sleek. I raise my cup, and wish her well. Enjoy each day, cause getting old is hell.
Totally agree about taking your time and exploring. As for that damn Pennywort it's a nightmare. We were at Beeston several months ago and had the same issue. It might be soft but it weighs a ton when you try to lift it out. As you say continuous cruisers should get a discount for keeping the canals navigable. Cheers until next time..🥃
Goodness me! The Rum Wench was more like the African Queen on that journey! Hard to believe we are in fire lighting season again, that rum sounds lovely. Big Cheers from Mid Wales 😎
Hiya Heidi just found your channel you are a natural story teller and I love your positivity. Bonny is beautiful. As for the weed just smoke it😂😂😂😂. I also went to Liverpool University 1983 to 89 I kept failing my exams😂😂. I now live near Lanesboro in Ireland which I see you've visited. Thankyou and all the very best and thanks for the laughs 🍀🍀🍀💚
It's a shame that the Canal and River Trust doesn't see fit to actually maintain the canals. However, I'm sure that the executives are getting very well paid. Hope you find further cruising to be less stressful. Be well and stay safe. 😊
Canal and River Trust do their best. However, the last Government massively cut their funding. The reality is that you will see less and less maintenance and canals closing. There is a campaign to try and reverse this.

Yayyyyy! it's our Heidi and Bonny time again, My goodness that there is a lot of weed, I can only imagine what it's like cutting through all that, You and Bonny lift our lives every week and the way you described that Rum, I could almost taste it myself,....Cheers, looking forward to next weeks journey, Take care both of you.
Wow, too bad you can’t call a friend to help you through that weedy cannel. It looks very peaceful as long as you don’t get stuck. You can see why they used horses to pull cannel boats years ago. The ditty was very nice today. Take care.
Oh my word, what a journey! I'm always so impressed with how much you know about your boat, and how much you pay attention to her. How beautiful that cruise was ... maybe you didn't notice it, as busy as you were, but we did. That walk outside the zoo sure was pretty. Your explorations are super, I love them, better than any big city shit anywhere. 🙂 The Cormorants (and their discussions) were great fun ... and the photos/videos really gorgeous. Adriana's ditty is my most favorite of all, simply excellent. Heidi, I hope your shoulder feels better soon, maybe with a another wee tit of rum, cheers!
Them two Cormorant seem to be hanging around. Saw them today a little bit further towards Chester as I was cycling. They both took off at the same time, wonderful to watch.
Hello to the gorgeous Rum Wench crew. Does the CRT have a program to keep the weeds under control? What a pain in the bleep.😊 Take care Heidi and Bonny.

Heidi you’re an absolute legend..I was tired watching you shift that ridiculous amount of weed..very entertaining and informative as usual, Well done..
Ahoy Heidi & Bonny! Heidi you are my norrowboat Hero ! ❤❤❤ From Chicago, IL U.S.A. P.S. Heidi you are a Blessing because you make me laugh & smile when ever I watch your blog. I personally thank you Heidi ! 😊
Doh, I don't drink but I think I would have a rum after that cruise and probably the next day after. A machete on your bow comes to mind..... though if the price of a licence has gone up so should the maintenance. I really look forward to Friday mornings Heidi, it's 6.00am and the coffee is poured as we board the Rum Wench. You could have done with a few of us really on board this week. Great vlog as usual Cap'n and thanks for the info re weed up near Chester. I'm currently continuously cruising on the Shroppie, but I've already seen enough weed to last me a lifetime 😂 my little dog is rubbish at helping me to shift it too, like Bonny! All the best, and i hope you have a weed free journey 🏴☠️🙋♀️🏳️🌈
The state of the canals and towpaths is one of the main reasons why I’m selling my boat. Twice I've nearly badly injured my leg stepping off the boat in to deep holes on the over grown bank edge. The first time was last year near Cosgrove on the GU, that time I got my leg out no problem just a bit of a scrape on my shin. The last time was on the Lester line earlier this year, in the middle of nowhere, my foot got stuck. I had to sit there in pain holding on to my centre line to stop the boat from drifting off for about 20 minutes, it felt like hours, I called to a passing boat for help (massive thanks to John, you’re a life saver) John tied my boat up then helped me get my foot out by digging with his hands in the wet mud, it took about 10 minutes. After a cup of tea and a laugh about what could have happened if no one had come along I thanked John again as he had to be on his way. I stayed moored up for a couple of days before moving on as I had trouble standing. I know the CRT is losing money but they need to check the towpaths and fill the holes before something really bad happens. Just one of the joys of being a single boater.
I fell down a hole a few videos back .. I was limping for a while …. Sorry it has caused you to sell your boat though ….. for me there are still a lot more pros to cons, however the canals are without a doubt in decline
Christine is it not possible to get the trust cited for lack of duty of care as you pay the trust fees to keep the canals safe and navigable? Just a thought.
I grew up in and around that area, lived 3 minutes away from your mooring for 10 years, and always lived along the coast. I now work in the docks over in Liverpool, and I have never seen a narrowboat on the Mersey. Obviously, they do it, but wow, how rare. I am surprised you didn't spend time in the boat museum as you moored on its doorstep.
Great video Heidi love the Two Birds on the toe bath really made us laugh .have a great weekend and keep safe Apparently we may have some strong winds coming in next week. 😊

Cheers Heidi .hope you don’t have nightmares of the dreaded weed .really funny the captions on the birds .hope you and Bonny have a lovely weekend god bless ya both and stay safe 😊❤
How do you stay so positive! That's a crazy amount of growth. Surprised the weed cutters haven't been out. Even the River Welland in the Fens gets a regular trim and there's rarely any boats there - probably to do with drainage rather than navigation.... BTW, I just completed on my NB "Snug" today...adventure awaits!
Hello heidi mick from Hull really enjoyed this Episode keep them coming and I hope you are both well and I will look forward to your next episode xx 😊😊😊😊
Hi Heidi, and beautiful little Bonny, wow, what a hard journey you had so far with all that weed, that is so incredible you think that Canal trust will clean it up really is ridiculous. Anyway I’m glad you’re both safe , love and appreciation Cliff from Logan City, Queensland, Australia 🇦🇺 I’m on the big island 🏝️
A big AHOY to You Captain Heidi and the little first mate Bonnie!!! That was a lot of work to make that 4 miles . Those weeds were horrible!!! I really enjoy watching the video as all ways!!! I hope that the next cruise will be better 😮😊!! Take care be careful keep safe and well!! I will see you and little Bonnie on the next video by for now.
Cheers Heidi! Good to see you both together again! I watched last week's vlog and the river, it was interesting to see where you stayed etc. This week the weeds were too much for me watching you struggle and try and get it all out of your way..... Hope the cruising gets better, and always enjoy when you are enjoying the journey. Thanks again for making my Thursday more enjoyable!!!!

Cheers Heidi .hope you don’t have nightmares of the dreaded weed .really funny the captions on the birds .hope you and Bonny have a lovely weekend god bless ya both and stay safe 😊❤
Another grand vlog, brilliant footage of the Cormorants 😂, thank you again super woman 😊💪
🤣🤣
Thanks Heidi and Bonnie xxxxx
How do you stay so positive! That's a crazy amount of growth. Surprised the weed cutters haven't been out. Even the River Welland in the Fens gets a regular trim and there's rarely any boats there - probably to do with drainage rather than navigation.... BTW, I just completed on my NB "Snug" today...adventure awaits!
Aww exciting 😃🏴☠️❤️
Look in the garden supplies for a 4 tine rake. The bent tines are very strong.
I think it would have many uses for you.
Hello heidi mick from Hull really enjoyed this Episode keep them coming and I hope you are both well and I will look forward to your next episode xx 😊😊😊😊
Thank you! You too!
I believe you hurt Bonnie's feelings when you said she's no help.😢
❤
🤣🤣 she hates the rain, she just goes in and sleeps on the sofa 🤣
I show the positives and negatives of boat life such as the wonderful second half of the video …. If I only showed the good bits it isn’t real life and a true vision of boating 😃🏴☠️
@@TheNarrowboatPirate And that is one of the main reasons I watch your vlog, you let us see it all good or bad!!! Oh yea I forgot to mention your big bush needs to be removed !!! (don't be rude!!) 🙂
