Wounded Healer (When the Wounded becomes the Healer)

  • Wounded Healer is someone who realizes that an Open Heart is the most powerful healer one can have. Wounded Healers take ownership of their own healing journey. True healers are those who were most wounded in the past, but chose to heal their own wounds. If you are a psychologist, counselor, caregiver, empath, or are someone who has a calling to be a healer, you may find the information provided here useful. Without exception, everyone experiences emotional pain in this life. Those who choose to become curios and heal their pain are meant to become wounded healers.
A healer cannot heal a wounded person beyond what the healer herself has yet not healed within. So, your capacity for healing others is not bounded by your empathic gifts, but by the emotional wounds from your past that prevent you from fully actualizing these gifts.
The term wounded healer is attributed to C.G. Jung, who became a healer through noticing and healing his own sufferings. The Wounded Healer is a paradoxical term, because it contains two polar opposite meanings, namely “being wounded” and “being a healer”. Because of this contradiction, the term Wounded Healer implicitly implies a transformation, the transformation from a “wounded individual” to a “wounded healer”. This presentation is focused on this transformation. More specifically, we cover the following topics:
    - How to know if you are meant to be a Wounded Healer?
    - The Origin of Trauma and Emotional Wounds
    - The Fundamental Needs of Humans (Inner Child Needs)
    - Why you need to become a Wounded Healer

This video resonated a lot with me, but I still need to figure out how to heal myself. I experienced an unexpected spiritual awakening as a teenager and thought that I was transforming into a shaman. But a few years later I went into a deep depression and ended up almost killing myself and having a mental breakdown. It wasn't till years later that I learned about the Dark Night of the Soul and that it's a common part of the spiritual transformation process. But the experience blocked my spiritual awakening and disconnected me. And I haven't been the same since then, like a part of me is missing.
Thank you for all of this useful content! 🙏

Thank you for sharing your inner journey. It resonates. Spiritual Awakening can start earlier in life, but when part of our personality (soul) is carry emotional pain, the awakening process may stop, because that wounded part still needs to heal and integrate. Dark Night of the Soul is the opportunity to get curios about what is still missing, specially parts of us that carry negative emotions related to what we experienced in the past. That's why Psychological Inner Work and Soul Retrieval is necessary for an organic spiritual transformation. Inner contemplation and journaling can help in identifying what part of us still need to transform. I wish you new insights and full emergence out of your dark night soon. Blessings.🙏

Wow. This was a tear jerker! Thank you for the time and effort you put into your videos. The video on meeting you spirit guide for the first time was spot on.
I think labels and education levels push people out of coming into their callings sometimes. I've been so curious about shamanism, for example, but don't fit the criteria....no ancestors that I know of that were shamans, curiously enough I've never been struck by lightening, so therefore I cannot be a shaman. I don't have extensive education so apparently I have to refer all problems, mental, physical spiritual, and emotional, to some sort of 'qualified' person. Well, being a wounded healer MAKES me qualified. And yes, we all need to step up no matter how introverted, quiet, 'weird' or whatever else we have been called, to hold space for those who are hurting. Interestingly enough, people come in for a massage who would have probably called me quirky before. So the way I can and do hold space for people is being introverted, quiet, empathic, intuitive, and practice sending healing energy to them. It's still all I can do to go to Walmart for shopping! But I can extend a wounded healers hand to people around me.
    Thank you for your video!

Thank you for your sharing. I am glad you connected with this post, and other content I post. Regarding shamanism, there is difference between Shamans and Shamanic Practitioners. Shamans are chosen by the community elders or initiated by their Guardian Spirit, usually happening as a part of a shamanic crisis. Shamanic practitioners are people who honor shamanic wisdom and use shamanic journeys or rituals as a mean to explore and heal themselves or help others to do so. If you have a shamanic way of looking at the world, and practicing shamanic journeys, you are technically a shamanic practitioner.
I hope you find a channel to express your care and compassion to the world, starting with yourself. This world needs wounded healers more than ever before. Blessings and Best Wishes.🙏

Blessings to you, Aion Farvahar. Thank you for this video. Through my healing work as a Meridian Massage Therapist of 27 years, I understand exactly what you are teaching. But, I was not aware of this in the beginning of my healing practice and made so many mistakes. I am a different person 27 years later learning how to heal myself little by little. I have come to an understanding of myself that I learn and grow continuously on my journey of the " wounded healer" and that I am never really finished healing.

Thank you, Priscilla, for your inspiring sharing. Healing is a process and we continuously grow and ascend as we heal our wounded parts. Once our most wounded parts feel listened to, understood, loved, they transform and are no longer as wounded. Although healing is a process, but after a while, we have enough connection to our center, and spiritual essence that our wounded parts feel calm and safe. Best Wishes and Blessings to your Wounded Healer Journey.🙏

What I don't understand is this: There are a few very good healers, who can send out amazing vibes and can say the most profound healing truths.
Yet their inner state is extremely delicate due their own trauma.
How can they not use the incredible information that flows through them - for themselves?
    A strange paradox.

    • @AionFarvahar
      @AionFarvahar 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

Good observation. Healing practice can at times become a mean to bypass healer's own wounds. As long as the healers are focused on healing others and define their sense of worth in what they do, they feel no need to look inside or heal themselves. That is why most people in healing practice, including many psychologists are not truly well deep inside. Bypassing is common even in those practicing spirituality, when the practice of spirituality becomes a mean to cope with and stay away from the pain inside.🙏

@@AionFarvahar Thanks so much for your reply. 💜 I find it hard to believe that the more exceptional healers don't at least attempt to use their knowledge for themselves.
Maybe they're trying their best along with their students, but we're all at different levels - including those who transmit some incredible wisdom and insight.
But you're right. Many do identify strongly as planetary healers - and not as much as one needing healing. ❤️💚💜

@The-Power-Of-Meow I started noticing the same thing in the spiritual communities. Everyone is so caught up into healing the world and others and never themselves. I must say, it's not for the weak and I say that to say it's hellish and very challenging for all of us. The wounded healers journey is very painful and at times I just want to run and find there's no where to run to. So I hold on however the tears and the pain is constant. The deeper the healing, the greater the capacity of the healer. That makes the journey so worth it to us all. We are swimming across that Ocean and yes we are arriving victoriously and we are bringing others with us triumphantly.

@@MaliAlchemist Thank you, Mali, for your kind and heart opening sharing. I feel your authentic wisdom and awareness about that fact that a a wounded healer journey can be at times challenging because we are wounded and the healer at the same time. The key to lasting healing and the end of pain is in understanding the originating events that wounded us. Most of our emotional pain belong to younger versions of ourselves, both our wounded inner child and wounded adolescent. So, our job as a wounded healer is to find your younger versions of ourselves, help them heal and let go of the emotional pain they embody. In other words, in order to heal the pain permanently, we need to go back to its originating root, at whatever age we were.
But, we must do that as a compassionate and curious observer, so we don't be taken over by their pain when engaging them. When we embody love, compassion, and curiosity, we can sit with our younger wounded parts, and let them know they no longer need to feel alone or abandoned. As a compassionate observer, we need to let them tell us what happened to them, and why they feel pain. Then we need to let them know those days are over and they come to the future to be with us and receive our love and compassion. Our wounded parts are very lonely and in pain, and want to let go of their pain, heal, and come back to us to present.
So, the key to being your own healer is to develop a capacity to embody compassion and curiosity and be present with our wounded inner child or younger parts without being overwhelmed by their pain. Remember that the pain is not ours (at our current age), it's theirs in their age. They did not have an unconditionally caring or compassionate adults to feel safe and loved, and will be open to let go of their pain (releasing it shamanically into the elements), if they feel our unconditional compassionate and love. When they do that, they will return to their playful, creative, and soulful nature in that age, and bring those gifts to make our life as adults more colorful. Having a deep spiritual relationship with the Scared, makes it much easier for us to hold that healing and compassionate energy when we go to our younger parts to retrieve them, help them let go of their pain. Hope you found this explanation helpful. Blessings to you and your courageous wounded healer journey. 🙏
