I fucking love that you put Power Metal at the top. I really dislike Pantera's later stuff. Anything past Vulgar Display is overrated as shit in my opinion.
I watched a video of Phil Anselmo ranking them and he said (Best) 1. Reinventing The Steel 2. Far Beyond Driven 3. Vulgar Display of Power 4. The Great Southern Trendkill 5. Cowboys From Hell 6. Power Metal (Worst)
I may get some hate for this, but I've always thought Vulgar Display of Power is the most overrated Pantera album. Don't get me wrong, the first half is great. Everything from Mouth For War to This Love are timeless classics. The second half, however, leaves a lot to be desired. Rise has some incredibly boring riffing and Live In a Hole is just a pure filler track. Hollow was a decent closer but yeah, tracks 6-10 were completely skippable tracks just to fill up disc space (hence, filler tracks).
I love pretty much the whole album but if I had to say there was a filler track it'd be Live In a Hole, so I'll agree with you on that. Rise is actually one of my favorites from the album so I guess I'm weird? I don't know I just love everything except Live In a Hole which I think is just a decent track.
Far Beyond Drive is by far my number one. Metallica went soft around this time and Pantera could've done the same and they actually got heavier. I also can't stand Reinventing the Steel.
@@mostlymetal5330 I hated it at first but its a slow burn. For many people it grows on them with time. Ive seen that said a lot. Its my favorite metal album period. Immortally Insane and Avoid the Light are two of my favorites also. To each his own *Edited* if FBD is your favorite you probably like BECOMING. To me I'll Cast A Shadow is like a modern BEVOMING in song structure with a Domination type outro. I actually think RTS is very similar to FBD just with much more vocal melodies
Agree with Power Metal being at the very top. Wish Anselmo had used that Halford-esque vocal style on later albums instead of those unbearable trailer park dwelling wannabe-tough guy vocals.

Not impressed with the albums before Cowboys from Hell.
Like Power Metal is not in Spotify, and I don’t understand why
They would love that you said Power Metal is a mix of Judas Priest and Kiss. I really think that's what they were going for at the time. Interesting list. I don't agree with, most of it lol, but interesting none the less. Love Pantera though. \,,/
At least it was unexpected
my favorite albums are vulgar display of power and the Great Southern
Trendkill
my pantera album ranked:
1 - metal magic
2 - power metal
3 - project in the jungle
4 - i am the night
I fucking love that you put Power Metal at the top. I really dislike Pantera's later stuff. Anything past Vulgar Display is overrated as shit in my opinion.
Power metal at #1, that's my boy👌🏻
home/collection tour video plz
Cmon bro, Far beyond driven is the best Pantera album and the best metal album of all time, It doesn't have to be death metal to sound so brutal.
I watched a video of Phil Anselmo ranking them and he said
(Best)
1. Reinventing The Steel
2. Far Beyond Driven
3. Vulgar Display of Power
4. The Great Southern Trendkill
5. Cowboys From Hell
6. Power Metal
(Worst)
10:19 woah I have to check out pwer metal
I may get some hate for this, but I've always thought Vulgar Display of Power is the most overrated Pantera album. Don't get me wrong, the first half is great. Everything from Mouth For War to This Love are timeless classics. The second half, however, leaves a lot to be desired. Rise has some incredibly boring riffing and Live In a Hole is just a pure filler track. Hollow was a decent closer but yeah, tracks 6-10 were completely skippable tracks just to fill up disc space (hence, filler tracks).
I agree, although I love Hollow.
I love pretty much the whole album but if I had to say there was a filler track it'd be Live In a Hole, so I'll agree with you on that. Rise is actually one of my favorites from the album so I guess I'm weird? I don't know I just love everything except Live In a Hole which I think is just a decent track.
👏🤟
Far Beyond Drive is by far my number one. Metallica went soft around this time and Pantera could've done the same and they actually got heavier. I also can't stand Reinventing the Steel.
You cant stand it? Really? I'm always surprised by this. Its easily my favorite. Those songs were amazing live
@@integrity101 I even tried listening to it again a month or two ago. I found myself bored with 95% of it. No idea why.

I hated it at first but its a slow burn. For many people it grows on them with time. Ive seen that said a lot. Its my favorite metal album period. Hey if ya dont like it, ya dont like it.
To me RTS is a modern more mature vulgar with more vocal melodies and a pinch of old school black Sabbath thrown in. Immortally Insane and Avoid the Light are two of my favorites also.
To each his own
*Edited* if FBD is your favorite you probably like BECOMING. To me I'll Cast A Shadow is like a modern BEVOMING in song structure with a Domination type outro. I actually think RTS is very similar to FBD just with much more vocal melodies
@@integrity101 Becoming is probably my fav song off of FBD. I will try it out again in the near future and see if my mind changes. Great discussion!!!
@@mostlymetal5330
Cool. Yeah Becoming is my favorite off FBD also.
I love Power Metal as well.
The first three albums are amazingly well crafted tunes by teenagers, but it's in no way better than RTS, c'mon now.
Mr. Elmo has an everything problem.
Now unfortunately Im not a big fan of Pantera. The early albums were better. Dimebag I liked. Its Phil I dont care for it.
I cringed at your number 1 😂
1. Vulgar
2. Cowboys.
3. Far beyond driven
4.power metal
The other albums has good moments but not strong albums top to bottom.
Agree with Power Metal being at the very top.
Wish Anselmo had used that Halford-esque vocal style on later albums instead of those unbearable trailer park dwelling wannabe-tough guy vocals.
11:55 na lol
Vulgar Display>Cowboys From Hell>Everything Else
Normie asf
TRENDKILL>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Unsubscribed.
Vulgar all the way
Yup got to far beyond driven thumbs down im good time to stop video 👎👎👎👎👎
As a pantera fan for some reason the power metal album flew under the radar for me. I remember discovering it for the first time and I was so blown away. It was so damn good and I also agree it should be number 1 on this list. Its better than CFH which is a great album too.
