Beginner bassist here (as in I've been playing almost a year). But, I can slap and pop. Was listening to the Renaissance album by, the legendary bassist in this video. Sir Marcus Miller. The way he plays bass is PRECISELY what I want to learn and why I'm switching to bass after 13 years of guitar that is just bunch of incomplete practice attempts from TH-cam. I love bass
I had the chance to meet them all, and yeah, they are all young and just happy to play, you are absolutly right man, and I think this attitude makes everyone feel happier !
There is some truth in what you say but that means that I as an amateur guitarist who makes a lot of mistakes can become a jazz musician instantly. I meant that on the album recordings Adam sounds a lot better and here it just seems that he is not in his top form. He is trully great, though.
It's improvisation. Marcus point's to him and he takes off. Check out Victor Wooten's book 'The Music Lesson'. Plenty of great insight for all players. Good luck with your Journey.
They're not mistakes. It's pretty evident that John Scofield is (or was) one of his influences. Scofield is the master of playing legato "outside" blues licks so far behind the beat, that when he plays along with a ticking metronome, it sounds like the metronome is swinging. Pat Metheny, too :-)
@@mr7stringbassplayer I happened upon this video, and your comment. 5 years later and I still can't see why Agati was playing with the likes of Marcus Miller
AWESOME solo by Agati...
Oh Yeah!!!!!
First time listening to Marcus and it awesome
Spot on, Adam Agati is a fantastic Musician/player, like they all are.......ACE !!!!!
Chapeau bas Monsieur Miller!!!
It's amazing to see how happy they are with each other's solos. All the "ahh duuuude that was aaaawesome!" smiles around, it always warms my heart :)

I'm sure that's a must on MM casting, that everybody absolutely has fun and delivers through music. Ego's out
Adam Agati is a killer on guitar !
You damn right, those scales come from beast land and I'm a bass player.
Totally agree
Love how Marcu Milller's faces just lights up after Aganti's solo
@Colt Randall pro trick: Terrible sales technique pestering people on random TH-cam videos unrelated to the thing you are selling.
Marcus has made the bass a exciting instrument.
Jekyll and Hyde by Marcus Miller is a monster....
funk on Marcus i dig you baby
Wow Adam!
ahhhhh man flashlight this is by far the smoothest shit I've come across in a minute!
i know !!! his solo was insane !!
Wow,Wow,Wow!!!😊
Alex Han is simply the baddest young sax cat today.
waaaaaaaaaaaaaat???
People don't get how talented Agati is on guitar....just think about what he is doing with cory Henry
Greatest song on the album along with Slipping into Darkness. The guitarist makes some mistakes but has a unique style. I love it.
I didn't know there were mistakes in Jazz. Adam is a beast of a Guitarist. IMHO.

Clearly Agati used Outside style, and its " touch" plus the crunch - wha guitar sound, show us the Mr Hide side !!!
Agati is very underrated, IMHO. The sax solo included some very interesting "outside" ideas...but Agati "lit it up!" :-)
The guitarist is out of control. Playing on another atmosphere.
guess it's the theme of the song. showing the contrast between jekyll and hide. Seems Agati expressed Hide by playing in different atmosphere.
This man's usage of wah is admirable to say the least
Guitar solo really killer in this track. So much mojo.
great beat
That solo reminded me of Tommy Bolin when he played with Billy Cobham.
♥♥♥
Yes, he is. But in my opinion, his best solo over Jekyll & Hyde is the one he played at Leverkusener Jazztage 2012.
Who da fuck you responding to?
Adam uses Tom Anderson guitars.
Came for the bass, stayed for the guitar
No words
@MrLiodKiller can you add the drummer to the lineup?
LARRY GRAHAM tone @ 8:55!!
FLASHLIGHT!!! All Hail P-FUNK !!! @ 5:58 mark!!
Nice
Anyone know the brand of guitar he uses?
The ADS..Dammitt!!
Marcus played a little "Flash Light "
Damn that conclusion

This band is OP as shit
first saw the drummer in Indonesia i thought he was a girl from afar. lol
xD
Guitar player like if Pat Metheny and John Frusiante have son
I really hate the change into the B section its just so wrong. Why did you stick two songs together Marcus?
The guitar player I guess was taken from the street.
I am so done with SAX, love Jazz, hate SAX
Guitar is the worst instrument ever after the theremin.
fuck off.
