i see a panel of the most UNDERRATED actors.
They're not underrated. Everyone who understands cinema proper values them immensely. But they're not commercially-minded artists and don't cater to the lowest common denominator, which is why they are in this panel on independent movies in the first place ^^
Jake Gyllenhaal is the definition of underrated. The Gary Oldman of this generation! Guess how many Oscar nominations he got for End of Watch, Nightcrawler, Prisoners, Enemy, Zodiac, Stronger, Southpaw, Nocturnal Animals. ZERO! If Leo did just as good job as Jake he would have been nominated for all of them!

It saddens me that Bill talked about himself in a way that he sort of brought himself down? just because he's a comedian. Ive been watching SNL all my life and i swear to god ive never seen a comedian so devoted to his craft. He could simply do EVERYTHING. That's why when they said he would do a drama I didnt doubt him. Like why he's not just a comedian he's a talented actor just like all of these people in this interview.
He is just being honest about how comedians are usually treated in the film industry. Many of them always discuss how hard it is to be taken seriously as anything other than a "funny guy" when trying to get a non-comedic role. Bill is a great guy it seems, and very humble.

There are very few actors who compel you to watch their movies no matter what. Jake is such an actor. Dude makes awesome flicks.

Jesus, I remember not that long ago when Cotillard's English was limited and now she's pretty much fluent. I did perhaps give her too much credit for using resonate when I've subsequently learned that the French is résonner. But even if it is the case that many English and French words share a common etymology and sound; I would wager I wouldn't be as fluent in French as she is in English over the same time period and circumstances.

not at all. it's very difficult at the moment and will only get harder. distribution is expensive and it is very difficult for the people making these films to earn a return on their capital.

Yes, I was at the audience of this AFI panel, and it was quite "interesting" to say the least. There was definitely some awkward moments courtesy of the queen of all awkwardness herself, Kristen Stewart. Tilda is just weirdly awesome--she's my future BFF. Bill Hader was out of his element, and I'm sure he was wondering when cocktails will be served. Jake is always impeccable, and about as yummy as a chocolate eclair. Michelle wasn't allowed much of anything except to look cute. Marion is stunning, though not particularly articulate. But since both her and Tilda are the only foreigners on the panel, they're totally excused.
And as for the two writer/directors who seemed to be the only ones who really cared to be there (why did they lump them both on that far corner, I don't know why)....
Kristen is awkward how? Because she thinks about what she is going to say instead of talking like a brainless bimbo noone gives a shit about your opinion on this roundtable haha you act like you know so much about these people when it is all assumptions your the ignorant one...
Bill Hader was not out of his element. His wife was expea baby in a few days. He had more important things on his mind

ive watched 5 of these round table interviews so far and the interviewers so far are terrible. the english guy on the oscar actors was good but the rest not so good. the guy on this one is terrible. he is so synical and has no charisma at all
