I go beyond the call of duties at work praying I can do this because I know He has went beyond standing beside me through harder years. I shed A tear when someone turns their backs as He does when they turn from Him. My strength comes from Him who carries me when I feel pain so I'm ready to run like there is no end!

Think it’s important to state that there is a distinction between “happiness” and joy & peace. Happiness is a state of MIND - that is most often related to our current/given/EXTERNAL circumstance. Peace and Joy is related to the state of our SOUL…*regardless* of our current circumstance. Superficial items (money, cars, job) cannot foster peace & joy. To Eric’s point that is an inside job.
There’s a quote by a stoic that says “Where you arrive does not matter as much as who you are when you arrive there.” I consider myself a happy person but it took a lot of discipline mentally. Mentally it’s like okay, I don’t have it all but at the very least I need to have myself…AT ALL times. If you cannot be control of what you think of yourself, what you think of your life then you will suffer when you become successful. I would even go as far as to say that your definition of success may be incorrect. Because Bob Proctor said as long as I am in pursuit of my goals, I am the definition of success . And if everything is working for my greater good, I should be happy. I think it’s also important to note that emotions come and go. Nobody is saying that you can’t be sad, down and upset. I think the problem is that you cannot stay there and define yourself by your state in life. You are defined by Gods will and word. Therefore the only people who are truly unhappy are those who have absolutely no control over it even when things are good. That’s when someone is depressed and needs to go see someone.
