Great Job! The repair was nice touch! Your Grandfather, I'm sure would be proud. Best of luck with your channel. I look forward to your next one. Have a Good'un.
I work 2 miles from Channellock in Meadville. I drive past it everyday. I always wanted to stop in and see if you can buy tools right in their factory.
Using old boy's tools--it's like he's right there in the garage with you. Wish i had been paying closer attention. Kids nowadays....nice project, naybr. I can totally get behind that.
Nice job brother. I've been restoring a lot of my late fathers old tools over the past few months but there are some that still have dirt and grease on them that I'm going to leave alone. They just remind me of him like your old wrenches remind you of your grandfather.
I appreciate the kind words! I bought that anvil for $100 and it was covered in an ugly blue paint. I stripped it off and painted it with Rust-Oleum high heat black spray paint.
In my opinion, FYI- They are like @$$ holes; EVERYONE has one, in doing tools on my little channel. As long as YOU are happy with the results then that is ALL that matters!
They were fine to begin with. Why not leave his wear? Now they are not your grandfather's. "How loose the blue handles are"... not at all. New Channelocks don't even cost much. The finish looks homemade on the metal now. Plasti dip is not as good as what you cut off IMHO. Cool anvil.
Killed me to watch the grips get cut, but I couldn’t imagine it’d be that close. Kudos
Grandma has a good Grandson. Your Heart shines bright . Nice restoration.
Thank you for the kind words!
@@garageshopminnesota you’re so welcome. Cheers

Thank you! He was a great man and I miss him. Thanks for watching.

I dont think they sell at the factory. Go to your favorite hardware store and tell them you know Channellocks history and come from Mradville, PA.

Those handles came out nice!
Thank you! It was a fun project and brought back a lot of great memories for me.
My condolences I lost my grandfather as well, just lost my father last year. Great job on the pliers, and yes he would be proud of you and your work.
Thank you. I appreciate that.

Thank you and I appreciate you watching!

What a nice transformation. Sweet anvil you’ve got

An exemplary job of refinishing those handles! Your grandfather would have been thrilled :)
Thank you for watching and I appreciate the kind words!
If you add white plasti dip to your blue you’ll get a nearly perfect match. Add about 4-5% by volume :)
Also no need to put thread lock on there because you peened it, locking the threads
I appreciate the comment. After I made the video I actually thought about that too. Thank you!

It turned out great but it looks like it would need few more coats on the handle!
Thank you for the input. I appreciate you watching the video!
Buy some new Channellock pliers. They last a lifetime without the nasty soaking you are doing
Great way to destroy your grandpas pliers
Thank you for watching and taking the time to comment! I appreciate it!
I've found that using heat shrink first and then dipping makes a quicker and thicker grip.
You are watching the channel to learn, not make stupid comments. Shut up and do so.
