    We sew a very beautiful patchwork block.
    You can purchase a set of fabrics used in the video. Everything is prepared for you to just stitch them together. The size of the set depends on the quilt dimensions you want to sew.
    You can also purchase a pre-made top side. It will be made of the same or similar fabrics, and will be of the exact size you need.

    1:41 I'm a beginner. This was easy to do. I used black instead of aqua and it looks amazing.

    Lovely design ! However, I am somewhat confused on sizes..do you start with 6 inch blocks, sew, add 5.5 inch, sew as instructed and wind up with a 4 3/4 inch block?

    • @themelodyofsewing6369
      @themelodyofsewing6369  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes, everything is correct with the dimensions.

      Were the final squares trimmed down to 4-3/4” from 5” after the second sewing?

    • @themelodyofsewing6369
      @themelodyofsewing6369  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, the sides of the squares need to be trimmed evenly. Make squares even

    How many squares did you make for this example .. I'm looking at table runner size instead of quilt . If I got this correct you did 8 square of 6x6 in .. ??? ...

      This is a lap quilt. It was custom made according to the customer's size of 40 inches*28 inches. Unfortunately, I don't remember how many squares I cut out. I am so sorry.❤

    Your videos are always so well done. I appreciate that you show a bit of your sewing so we know what to do, but not ALL of the sewing as if we're kindergarteners who need to see every single stitch going in. The fabrics you choose contrast well & have an obvious front and back, making it easy to see if you're working with the dark fabric or the medium, right side or wrong side. Normally I prefer tutorials that have spoken instructions as well, however yours are so clear that (for me at least) spoken isn't needed - plus there's obviously no superfluous chatter that makes the video needlessly long. I think I've got the "formula" of this one (dark always goes against dark, light always goes against medium, medium is long side to medium, short side to light) so now I'm off to look for suitable fabrics in my stash. 🙂 EDIT - LOL, both sides of the medium are long, aren't they? But I figured it out - the light points to the left in one row, then to the right in the next. LOVING how mine is turning out!
