    In this video, you mention that you can re-use pillow paint drippings for other projects. If it becomes too thick, how do you thin it out, and how long can it keep for?

    • @rainandpours
      @rainandpours  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can thin the pillow with a little bit of water, and it will last as long as any other paint as long as it's in an airtight container. It will separate out though to be sure to mix thoroughly before using it again :)

  • @GILSAN123
    @GILSAN123 ปีที่แล้ว

    Great explanation, though I have a doubt; You say to use 1 Tbsp of colour paint on the 4"x4" and 2 Tbsp of Colour paint on the 6"x6". Is that 1 Tbsp per colour, or for the total of all colours?
    Also could you tell me how many ml in the cups you are using?

    • @rainandpours
      @rainandpours  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      In the video I actually measured 1.5Tbs of pillow paint onto the 4" tile. I have not measured exactly how much colour I put down as I drizzle my paints on. I did mention that I estimate it to be about .5 - 1Tbs worth, however it will be totally different depending on how much coverage you want. More coverage: more paint, softer look: less paint.

  • @Carole_Williamson
    @Carole_Williamson ปีที่แล้ว

    Forgive me, but could you tell me why “crazing, cracking or flocculation,” would happen if there isn’t enough paint? And would I use a tad less pillow paint so I don’t stretch out my cells as much? All you art looks wonderful, even the ones you call “failures or bad”. I just like all the small cells.

    • @rainandpours
      @rainandpours  ปีที่แล้ว

      Think of paint like an elastic band that expands and contracts. As the paint dries, it contracts upon itself and if it's too thin or dries too fast, the skin on top rips itself apart as the paint underneath tries to dry. If it's thin, it dries too quickly. And yes, less pillow will mean less stretching

    Quick question, I am in USA and loving the little blower, there are so many knock offs. Was there a brand or packaging detail you know of? Thank you 🙏,Appreciate you…

    • @rainandpours
      @rainandpours  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Paul. No there wasn't anything specific on the package different to what I've seen globally. However your power delivery system is only 110v over there where ours is double and a half at 240v, so literally throwing more power at the blowers. Also the battery ones are terrible haha get a USB one and it'll work far better especially plugged into a wall socket with direct power supply.

    Hi - great video... always a help!
    If you don't mind - I'm also always interested in people's setup.
    So you have a box, wrapped or coated in something that is "easy to scrape" while you're doing your Blooms.
    Can you describe that ? I know it may be obvious - but sometimes it's those simple things that help make the work area better/easier to work in.
    Thanks

      I use 20ml tablespoons as I'm in Australia :)

    • @terrykennewell3839
      @terrykennewell3839 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes. I was going to ask the same thing cause I remember Shelee saying that in Australia a tablespoon is 20 ml. So you are using approx. 30 ml(1 1/2 Aus Tablespoons), does that sound correct. Also thanks so much. I moved at the beginning of the year and just getting started back on doing Blooms and struggling so I've been going through your videos as a refresher. You are awesome and explain everything so it's easy to understand. Hugs from Texas!!

  • @MsToxicavenger

    Except a US Tablespoon does not equal an Australian Tablespoon!!!
    United States tablespoon is approximately 14.8 ml (0.50 US fl oz), a United Kingdom and Canadian tablespoon is exactly 15 ml (0.51 US fl oz), and an Australian tablespoon is 20 ml (0.68 US fl oz).
    So - In the US to get 1.5 Australian TBS, we need about 2 US tablespoons.

    • @MsToxicavenger
      @MsToxicavenger 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      US cups are also about 240 ml to your Australian cup of 250 ml.

    • @rainandpours
      @rainandpours  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes that is something I'm aware of haha. My tablespoon that I used for the video is actually a 15ml spoon as well. That's part of why I mentioned the little trick in there as well so you can judge the amount needed without using a strict measurement. It's paint and it doesn't always follow rules like we'd like it to so knowing visually how to measure it out is better than using a tablespoon or cup etc. Thanks for pointing that out too though as it can be important when mixing paints for pouring mediums.
