    Car free communities should benefit everyone including children and elderly groups by providing amenities through onsite daycares, playgrounds, libraries, health clinics, and pharmacies.

      Are there scooters here?

      ideally we have car-unsubsidized communities. cars are fine if they pencil out economically, and many purposes they do, e.g. delivery trucks. we just don't want to subsidize them with goodies like free parking. projects like this would be a whole lot more impactful if they were laid out side-by-side with dutch narrow safe streets between them.

      Didn't you notice the absence of seniors and handicapped people in this video? If you follow the World Economic Forum, you'll see there are no provisions for these people because they've been "taken care of".

    Of course the idea of a car free community is good - but boy Phoenix was a weird place to do it

      It’s a good place to do it because it’s car dependent.

      Well the closeness of the buildings can help shield people from the sun. And with much needed amenities being just a few steps away, it'd be highly beneficial to those who cannot afford to drive.

    i'm desperate for them to make several of these types of developments side by side, and to effectively design the streets between those projects to be narrow, and free of any parking (parking can be provided by the private market via parking garages and driveways at the expense of the driver rather than taxpayers), and equipped with protected bike lanes wherever speed limits make them critical. don't just make housing developments, make neighborhoods. let's get all den haag up in here.

      "housing developments"...interesting that you would use that term. These "developments" look very nice when brand new; they will eventually become slum developments, wherein people will find themselves trapped and isolated from family members and friends who live afar. I wouldn't be too "desperate" to want to live in such a prison. For heaven's sake, stop and think things through, before jumping on communistic bandwagons!

    Are there elevators for people that use wheelchairs that would like to visit a neighbor on an upper floor?

    • @skywatcher6864
      @skywatcher6864 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      None required; seniors and special needs people have been eliminated. That was the job of the "poisoned pokes" of recent years. If you follow the World Economic Forum and the UN's websites, you'll see what I'm saying is true.

If a "resident" / prisoner steps out of line in these places, they will be too. They're prison cities!

      To be fair, it is in the desert. Maybe some cactus or Joshua trees could probably give it a bit more green.
