Could not forget about Backlash 2007! Both world title matches were great, especially the Fatal 4 Way! The finish was so epic and heart-stopping that I wish they could replicate it in the future.

It was like the best way to showcase the best of the current crop and expand on the future with their Triple Main Events of Angle/Taker, Jericho/HHH (Last Man Standing) and Rock/Benoit... T&A with Trish vs. Team Xtreme, Val Venis vs. Rikishi in that Steel Cage, that Dallas crowd was super lit too.. For me, it's IYH 16: Canadian Stampede, Fully Loaded 2000, One Night Stand 2005 & Money in the Bank 11... I kinda feel that MITB 11 is a semi cop-out since I feel like it's the fifth most important show of the calendar year..
I absolutely love Backlash 2004. I was in awe the first time I saw it as a kid and I still enjoy myself immensely going back to it now which is not not the case mostly with these nostalgic moments. It is sad really WWE will never acknowledge these Benoit matches since they are some of the most entertaining stuff you will ever find on the network. That guy had some real Daniel Bryan aura to him.
Daniel Bryan is on record saying that one of his idols he got a large part of his style and move set was from Dynamite Kid.... so did Benoit. One of the greatest matches ever, lost to time.
Has anyone ever noticed Benoits behaviour during his match at Backlash 2005? He struggles to get to his feet several times, to the point where Lawler tries to cover it by saying Hebner is on his side. After the match he has a concerning look on his face. Was he selling a kayfabe brick shot to the head, or was this the start of his CTE?
It's like that with the diving headbutt too. Every time he did it he like shook after. Who knows if that was just him selling or if he was seizing from it. Either way it's a sad cautionary tale.
We”ll never know. Part of why it’s so hard to figure out why the tragedy happened is because of how Chris was. Either he was that good at selling or maybe he really did get hurt in the ring but hid it or didn’t want to get any help for it.

I'll be honest i think the booking that let john win in 2012 extreme rules was actually very well handled. Instead of him just getting up and beating him he got lucky and got the chain which is the only reason he won.
Remember attending Backlash 2009 as an 11 year old kid. Was either in Boston or RI, but the main point I always remember was the Hardy’s I Quit match and that choke slam through the stage light
No 2016? Reigns vs AJ, Sami vs KO, Miz vs Cesaro, Ambrose vs Jericho, Charlotte vs Natalya - color me surprised. That is in my top 35 WWE shows ever (top 20 without Takeovers).

It should of been summerslam 2014. Cena was losing a bunch of big matches and having him get destroyed by a returning monster would of sent brock to the moon, and had actual continuality for cenas storyline. But nopeeeeeee

Also, Brock nearly retired Trips at SummerSlam and then beat the straight edge hell out of Punk, broke the Streak, did what he did to Cena, and wallah. That loss didn't hurt him at all. Besides, you say fragile ego, you should be thanking Cena for eating those 16 GSs and 2 F-5s.
I think Cena going over Lesnar is unfairly maligned and shown out of context. It wasn’t yet known if Lesnar was going to stay around, if he was legit back, and if he wasn’t going to quickly become disgruntled again. So if you are only sure of this one night it’s extremely reasonable to have your top guy go over while keeping Lesnar’s mystique as a monster. I think that match did both and was the smartest move at the time.

Backlash 2000 was definitely better than Wrestlemania 2000..that wrestlemania reminds me of the old wrestlemanias where they try to stuff everyone on the card...to come and think of it Backlash has been great since it started back in 1999 which that 99 edition might be better than wrestlemania 15
Backlash 2000 was good, I just didn't like how in each of the three separate tag team matches the face team got a tag in but the ref doesn't see it and doesn't allow it at least once. That's easily one of the most annoying wrestling tropes to me, and honestly way overdone in my opinion.
I can't believe the WWE actually burned Ben Wa balls to a crisp and had wrestlers fumble around to make them a credible wrestler. Like, never heard of fake wrestler Crisp Ben Wa 😅
