Generally, the academic definition of art is painting, theater, and literature. But I think music videos can definitely be considered as a form of art, from an academic perspective. With that being said, this music video, or shall I say, this piece of art, is so beautiful, precious and priceless. On a scale of 1-10, I’d give it 10 times infinity because it is very very beautiful. With that being said, this video is truly the peek of music video industry. However, I am not saying that the music videos coming next are less amazing than this video. Simply put, this video gives the audience a glimpse of what is called art.

Videography is part of Visual Arts. MVs are in itself part of the package. Plus the guys producing these music videos came from animation and film. You get that from school of the arts.
Oh and check out Empire of the Sun, Ok Go, and Walk the Moon for artsy MVs. WtM members all went to classical arts school so the cast of their early MVs were classmates from their alma mater. Songs: Anna Sun & Tight Rope. Kamikaze, We Are The Kids. Empire of the Sun's walking on a dream and all their MVs are trippy. Ok Go's MVs have the same vibes thematically.
as someone who’s been into art and studying digital art for ages, seeing someone taking so long to define art is miserable. art is in everything. photography, videography, crafts/packaging, digital painting, graphic design, etc. anything that involves creativity and innovation is art, not just literature, painting or theater.
