THE LION AND THE MOUSE

The fable of the Lion and the Mouse is followed faithfully(except for the cider-jug)for the first five minutes. in the original fable, the mouse chewed the net that held the lion, and thus the lion got free. In this version, with the mouse turning out to be Super Mouse(Mighty Mouse)the whole point of the story is ruined. I thought this when I first saw this cartoon at age eight.

This was one of the early appearances of,"Super Mouse,"but the first one was called,"The Mouse of Tomorrow."

Actually, this wasn't a "Super Mouse" cartoon. Technically, it was an "Aesop's Fable". Although the mouse DOES become "super"....he also becomes DRUNK. Heroes DIDN'T get "smashed", and "Our Hero" NEVER succumbed to any kind of alcohol. So, he's not "officially" "Super Mouse".......
