- The wind was knocked out of us when the veterinarian gave us the grim news.
Pokey has a tumor in her lung, along with other life threatening health issues.
Unfortunately we had to make a heart wrenching decision.
Pokey was beloved by all California Preachers and we cannot express how grateful we are to all of you for that!!!!

I am so sorry for your incredible loss. Been there, I also hold my sweet babies when they pass. Painful, but they are always here to support us when we need it, so I have to be there for them. Pokey was so precious. Mine are always strays, and hard luck cases. Love them so much!🥰🐶🥰We are praying for Space Kitty to be comforted, as well as your human family!💜😺

Our beloved pets become such an integral part of our family. Their little spirits are soooo missed when they're not there. We have two little rescues one of which is a Brussels Griffon mix and has that "ewok" face too! They are getting on in age and I cant imagine what I will do without them as we've laid several of our precious pets to rest. Totally feel your loss❤️❤️🤗🤗

I'm sorry for your loss. Thank you for including lots of photos of her. My little Shih Tzu was like my first child. She died 30 years ago. I still think of her and tear up. I'll miss seeing Pokey poking along behind you on your walks. Poor little girl. I hope she didn't suffer too much. Trusting God to comfort you in this sad time.

I lost my little dog a few years ago Chynna, I still wakeup every morning missing him. I know animals spoke in the garden of Eden so.. I know the Lord said when he returns that the new earth would be like the garden of Eden Therefore I believe with all my heart that we will see our pets in heaven for sure. We have this to look forward to Chynna.
My heart broke again seeing what happened to Pokey. I’m SO sorry for your loss! 🙏🏼👍🏼❤️ I was up all night with my 16 year old Siberian Husky Bello. He was crying, I noticed he couldn’t walk, he had a stroke, I had to bathe him due so what they do when this happens, then at 6am this morning, he was seizing 😢I took him to the vet. Unfortunately I knew he was about to go. He passed at 10:30am right when vet doc was going to euthanize Bello. I know how you feel Chynna. It going to be a rough couple of weeks for me. I'm feeling your loss and pain, Chynna and Billy. I lost my Yorkie boy, Stewie, 2 Saturdays ago to heart failure. For 14 years, he was always by my side. I'm so sorry Chynna and Billy, on your loss of sweet Pokey. My Mom lost her young Dachshund of only 5 years about 10 days ago. He had to also be put to sleep because he suddenly was paralyzed from the waist down. He literally was gone within 48 hours!! 😢 He truly were blindsighted.

I've been there... it makes me think of my little Joe who died last summer... my only comfort, or 2 comforts is knowing we gave Joe a great life and God is now taking care of our Joe... God is taking care of your Pokey. I'm a firm believer that God has a place for these wonderful creatures, who gives us nothing but "unconditional love"!! Prayers for you!
I had my puppy boy 16 years. It broke my heart when he passed a year and a half ago. My heart still hurts. I know I'll be with him in Heaven and that thought keeps me going. Love and Peace to you.
