Are you allowed to just walk into the cockpit whenever or do you have to contact the pilots first and they allow you access , since 9/11 access to the cockpit has obviously changed a whole lot . You are absolutely right! I spent a lot of my life considering myself a failure due to the fact that all my friends were married with children, bought a house, more successful career wise, etc. I struggled with alcohol addiction for 10+ years which definitely slowed my progress down but fortunately I obtained the help I needed and everything started to fall into place at the prime age of 32. As you mentioned everyone has their own timeline and comparing yourself to others is never a good idea. Love your videos! Stay strong and never give up on your dreams!
On home ownership: My wife and I didn't get into a place until we were both 36, it's worked out well because we were financially ready when the time came. I would stack savings for your down payment for the next year or two and wait for the craziness in the housing market to calm down; what's going on in housing right now is not a normal state of affairs. Things never stay the same in housing and I'm sure there will be better opportunities if you wait. Also...it is legally and financially advantageous to be married before you buy, not that buying a home should dictate when you marry...but it's definitely something to consider. Have a great week!
It's definitely safer to own a house together but own vehicles separately. If you hit someone, they can't go after the house with your spouse's name on it.
Great advise. My husband and I also bought a house in our late 30s. I'm glad we waited, we saved enough for the down payment and paid all of our debt. We're happy with our place, we waited a while but hard work and patience paid off.
It is very easy to get anxious and feel pressure to buy a house, especially in a hot market, but rushing into buying a house can lead to massive headaches. It is an enormous purchase and must be handled thoughtfully.
And, I have to say, it’s harder to afford travel and breaks when you have a mortgage. Houses have a way of eating up every last penny in taxes, yard work, maintenance and repairs. Enjoy your freedom now. And Craig G is right. The housing market is not normal. It reminds me of the eighties when sellers could charge anything they want and buyers would pay. Just wait. Tv stations are making less and less money and they keep cutting back. I’m sure something will come up that capitalizes on your skills if you want to move on from being a FA.

Yeah, Julia, you shouldn’t be under any pressure to get a home right now. It will happen at the right time. Enjoy what you and Eric have. My wife and I are in our late 40’s and just bought our first home two years ago. Beyond that for 15 years, we had a condo.

As a passenger and I understand about needing time off. I watched the news all summer and saw what was going on. Plus I was watching various videos on TH-cam. In a little less than four weeks I will be on an American Airlines flight. I got a vlogging camera after watching you, Stella, Kat and Ale. I will be using it on my trip and uploading to TH-cam more.
Luna barked in sync with my iPad and phone chirming with a severe thunderstorm alert! Great timing. Good video. Never, ever, compare your lot in life to anyone else's. It's not that you may not know all the tribulations in their life, neither you -nor they- know what's tp come. My ex-wife used to always be jealous of a co-worker who already had a house and a child when we were still in an apartment and childless. When "K" was pregnant next time around (with twins), she contracted chicken pox early in the pregnancy. You can imagine what happened next. One child was stillborn and the other was later diagnosed with closed-head syndrome, and lived less than a year. When we visited them shortly after Matthew was brought home from the hospital. we went to visit. While there, "R" (the baby's father) looked at the child in the bassinet and said, "Why don't you move you worthless slug?" So, never use others as your standard of comparison. Use yourself. And, whom you can reasonably be, as that standard.

Omgosh...I'm 33 and I don't have a significant other (at least you have Eric and Luna!) or house yet and it gets me down too. It's not a game or a race, everyone is on their own path but know that you are still VERY young and most people do not own a house at 26 so you've got time. Good luck with everything! Maldives is where heaven and earth aligned. At first I didn't have much interest of going there, but my girlfriend really wanted to go. Eventually, she succeeded of taking me there together. And I'm so grateful and thankful that she initiated that trip. You really should go there.
Julia, thanks so much for this update and I can totally understand your struggle with “where you are in life” I can totally relate. But some very helpful advice I was given which I will pass on to you is , sometimes in life we can be waiting for “our life to start” when in actuality the whole time we were waiting life was happening but we just didn’t realize it. It’s all about the journey so just know that this is your life the journey is real and enjoy every minute of it. For what it’s worth. You are one of the few 26 year old ladies that I know who has her life so much together. I mean you have a good solid job , you take good care of yourself. Working out , eating right ,etc you have a great solid relationship with a good solid dude (Eric) who is very blessed to have you by the way. (Ditto for him of course) . I’ll say it again Julia, I really admire your honesty and truth in your channel that’s why I keep watching your a truly genuine lady and you aren’t afraid to show that and that’s rare in today’s world. I fly for business more than casual and commercial aviation is one of my hobbies, I still stop what I'm doing and pay attention. Keep up your spirt and glad to see you back to Vloging. Clear skies!
I enjoyed this. Thank you. I listen to the briefing on the first leg for sure. If it is a 2 or 3 stop connector / commuter, I admit I may not pay as much attention. If I am in the emergency row, I will listen EVERY TIME. Cruises are great. We have done many including Bora Bora as a stop. Be safe always, enjoy life. And I think you are beautiful inside & out. I'd love to be a passenger on your flight because it would be sweet to meet you.

I do my best to pay attention to flight attendants during safety briefings. It's amazing how many clueless people who fly wouldn't have any idea what to do in an emergency. Speaking of boats, you mentioned you'd like to work on one. Cruise ship or private yacht? Be prepared for the cruise or charter that never ends with the worst of the worst passengers on board!

I think flying today is just not as fun and more stressful due to the current conditions but on the flip side you get to travel to nice locations at a cost also. However, in watching your videos you seem to be well adjusted and have a routine. You can burn out in a lot of jobs. Taking time off and recharging. Besides you have Luna.. such a sweet dog.

Let this 70’s something guy leave you with my favorite pickup line from my 20’s “ if I told you you had a nice body, would you hold it against me” 😂 Don’t laugh, it worked on my wife of 47 years.
There are no steps or prescriptions for life. Set specific goals and work towards them. Be flexible because you may need to adjust those goals or the timeline. Don’t be afraid to see a counselor if you are struggling with anything. It doesn’t mean something is wrong with you. It just means you are willing to seek advice. Take it from this married 55 year old father of 2 who has ticked all the typical achievements in life. Avoid social media whenever possible. People only post their good moments. So, it looks like the rest of the world is always happy and never has any problems. Try and just sit and appreciate what you do have. Enough advice. Good luck.

Don’t try to be like everyone else. The worst thing is to try to be like everyone else. Live within your means for you. I’m 58 and looking back to pictures from 20s and 30s I think damn I was way better looking than I thought. Youre’re a pretty stunning thin young lady. Plenty of people to put you down, don’t be one of them.

I had to learn the hard way that people off the airplane thought I would be the same as on the airplane. Like you I was happy, quick and glad to give the very best in customer service. But off the airplane I became more three dimensional. I needed my downtown time and my alone time. And I needed to put myself first just recover so I could do it all over again. I loved flying for the first ten years. After that I was tired and wanted to keep my feet on the ground. Seasons change…
I've been thinking about this life-stage idea lately, and to me people's position in their lives makes much more sense only in the context of their own situation. Since everyone's situation is different, its not exactly an apples-to-apples comparison, even if you're the same age. I'm trying to prepare myself as best I can for the things I want to achieve, and I accept that its going to take as long as its going to take me. But the comparison to the influencers is not even fair - to the influencers! - because you're a total knockout PLUS you're ambitious and push yourself for great things in your life
Life will unfold as it is supposed to for each of us on its own schedule. Do not stress, stay positive and you will know when it’s right!! Been there and speak from experience as our families never thought we were going to get married or have kids and we did and life played out for us! 🥂🇨🇦👍🏻

Hey there, meeting all of these milestones are an American made ideal. Most people in different countries never own a house and it’s not a thing you need actually. Just like most don’t have cars because public transport is clean, efficient and goes everywhere. So, rethink what makes someone successful. I see you as a very successful person! Be happy where you are, what you have and live your life.

Loved this one! I totally get your struggles and worries about buying a house. My best friend bought his home last year and i often feel as though im failing because im not there yet. Tv stations are making less and less money and they keep cutting back. I’m sure something will come up that capitalizes on your skills if you want to move on from being a FA.

Yeah, Julia, you shouldn’t be under any pressure to get a home right now. It will happen at the right time. Enjoy what you and Eric have. My wife and I are in our late 40’s and just bought our first home two years ago. Beyond that for 15 years, we had a condo.

As a passenger and I understand about needing time off. I watched the news all summer and saw what was going on. Plus I was watching various videos on TH-cam. In a little less than four weeks I will be on an American Airlines flight. I got a vlogging camera after watching you, Stella, Kat and Ale. I will be using it on my trip and uploading to TH-cam more.

Luna barked in sync with my iPad and phone chirming with a severe thunderstorm alert! Great timing. Good video. Never, ever, compare your lot in life to anyone else's. It's not that you may not know all the tribulations in their life, neither you -nor they- know what's tp come. My ex-wife used to always be jealous of a co-worker who already had a house and a child when we were still in an apartment and childless. When "K" was pregnant next time around (with twins), she contracted chicken pox early in the pregnancy. You can imagine what happened next. One child was stillborn and the other was later diagnosed with closed-head syndrome, and lived less than a year. When we visited them shortly after Matthew was brought home from the hospital. we went to visit. While there, "R" (the baby's father) looked at the child in the bassinet and said, "Why don't you move you worthless slug?" So, never use others as your standard of comparison. Use yourself. And, whom you can reasonably be, as that standard.

Omgosh...I'm 33 and I don't have a significant other (at least you have Eric and Luna!) or house yet and it gets me down too. It's not a game or a race, everyone is on their own path but know that you are still VERY young and most people do not own a house at 26 so you've got time. Good luck with everything! Maldives is where heaven and earth aligned. At first I didn't have much interest of going there, but my girlfriend really wanted to go. Eventually, she succeeded of taking me there together. And I'm so grateful and thankful that she initiated that trip. You really should go there.
Julia, thanks so much for this update and I can totally understand your struggle with “where you are in life” I can totally relate. But some very helpful advice I was given which I will pass on to you is , sometimes in life we can be waiting for “our life to start” when in actuality the whole time we were waiting life was happening but we just didn’t realize it. It’s all about the journey so just know that this is your life the journey is real and enjoy every minute of it. For what it’s worth. You are one of the few 26 year old ladies that I know who has her life so much together. I mean you have a good solid job , you take good care of yourself. Working out , eating right ,etc you have a great solid relationship with a good solid dude (Eric) who is very blessed to have you by the way. (Ditto for him of course) . I’ll say it again Julia, I really admire your honesty and truth in your channel that’s why I keep watching your a truly genuine lady and you aren’t afraid to show that and that’s rare in today’s world. I enjoyed this. Thank you. I listen to the briefing on the first leg for sure. If it is a 2 or 3 stop connector / commuter, I admit I may not pay as much attention. If I am in the emergency row, I will listen EVERY TIME.
Cruises are great. We have done many including Bora Bora as a stop.

I do my best to pay attention to flight attendants during safety briefings. It's amazing how many clueless people who fly wouldn't have any idea what to do in an emergency. Speaking of boats, you mentioned you'd like to work on one. Cruise ship or private yacht? Be prepared for the cruise or charter that never ends with the worst of the worst passengers on board!

I think flying today is just not as fun and more stressful due to the current conditions but on the flip side you get to travel to nice locations at a cost also. However, in watching your videos you seem to be well adjusted and have a routine. You can burn out in a lot of jobs. Taking time off and recharging. Besides you have Luna.. such a sweet dog.

There are no steps or prescriptions for life. Set specific goals and work towards them. Be flexible because you may need to adjust those goals or the timeline. Don’t be afraid to see a counselor if you are struggling with anything. It doesn’t mean something is wrong with you. It just means you are willing to seek advice. Take it from this married 55 year old father of 2 who has ticked all the typical achievements in life. Avoid social media whenever possible. People only post their good moments. So, it looks like the rest of the world is always happy and never has any problems. Try and just sit and appreciate what you do have. Enough advice. Good luck.

Don’t try to be like everyone else. The worst thing is to try to be like everyone else. Live within your means for you. I’m 58 and looking back to pictures from 20s and 30s I think damn I was way better looking than I thought. Youre’re a pretty stunning thin young lady. Plenty of people to put you down, don’t be one of them.

I had to learn the hard way that people off the airplane thought I would be the same as on the airplane. Like you I was happy, quick and glad to give the very best in customer service. But off the airplane I became more three dimensional. I needed my downtown time and my alone time. And I needed to put myself first just recover so I could do it all over again. I loved flying for the first ten years. After that I was tired and wanted to keep my feet on the ground. Seasons change…
I've been thinking about this life-stage idea lately, and to me people's position in their lives makes much more sense only in the context of their own situation. Since everyone's situation is different, its not exactly an apples-to-apples comparison, even if you're the same age. I'm trying to prepare myself as best I can for the things I want to achieve, and I accept that its going to take as long as its going to take me. But the comparison to the influencers is not even fair - to the influencers! - because you're a total knockout PLUS you're ambitious and push yourself for great things in your life
