      I heard the Analog.man King Of Tone wait list is 3+ years now! There's no reason for ANY pedal wait list to be longer than 3 months when the parts of readily available LOL. With that said, I bought one of the King of Clones and immediately sold my KOT for $700 on Reverb, I'm currently 10 months out for my next KOT which I will immediately flip too! I feel sorry for the people that have to wait 3+ years for Analog.Dood (Will they ever actually get a KOT, or will they get a Klon-ed over the head like the poor people Bill Finnegan left waiting for years, who got nothing!), they should buy the 68 pedals instead, it can be dialed to to sound EXACTLY like the King of Waiting fka King of Tone!

    I listened on high end cans/amp and I found the most informative section was when you said to heck with the knob settings and just twisted the clone to get the same tone as the original, which you in fact 99% accomplished. That is the test that compares the actual potential of each box. LOL, I'm old enough to remember the days when two brand new "identical" tube amps would sound as different as these two boxes when the knobs were set the same...

    • @gregorist-gregorbrewczynsk5269
      @gregorist-gregorbrewczynsk5269  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes you are right. but you also have to read everything because I wrote other comments that I already had 3 more KoT and all three had minimal differences. even if the KoC does not sound 100% identical, it is worth its 100 euros.

    • @samuelsmith4494
      @samuelsmith4494 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@gregorist-gregorbrewczynsk5269 I saw your other comments...just offered these for additional perspective is all. Two schools of thought: one is "who cares if its a clone and the knobs are in a different position as long as I get a sound I want" and the other is "I like this one better therefore I actually play better thru it simply because it amps me up more". IMO these are both 100% valid since at the end of the day, it comes down to how well you play. What I like so much about your video as compared to most others is I can see both of these aspects. Your "dinking" is clearly more animated when using the KOT. And when you start twisting knobs on the KOC, it is in fact 99% the same as the KOT. And seeing both of these aspects is what makes your video so good imo. Most everyone else just sets the knobs the same and calls it a day, which isn't very informative at all imo.

    Sehr guter Vergleich, vielen Dank dafür!! Die Unterschiede sind wirklich minimal, finde ich. Wie Du sagst, wird man es live wohl kaum hören. Nachdem ich vor ca. 10 Jahren schon einmal einen KOT hatte (ich fürchte dass ich ihn damals nicht kapiert habe und mein Stil ein anderer war...), den aber leider wieder verkauft habe, habe ich seit 1 Jahr wieder einen und bin sehr glücklich damit. Er hat die Frequenzen, die sich immer durchsetzen, auch im Studio. Nächste Woche kommt mein nächster hoffentlich an, nach 3 Jahren Warteliste und (dank Corona) fast 4 Monaten shipping (die Frachtflieger durften nicht fliegen). Mike schickt den KOT ja nicht mehr nach D, also musste ein Freund im Ausland herhalten. U.a. aufgrund Deines Videos habe ich mir auch noch den KOC bestellt und bin sehr gespannt.

    Close enough to get to know the pedal, decide if you really want it, and hold you over for the wait. But if it is THE SOUND you crave, rh Analog an has that extra little magic.
    The clone, like most clones of everything, is slightly harder sounding and has a little less sag... At least listening to them, the difference is small. Feel could be a slightly different story. It seems the player gets more into those single note bends when playing the real deal, which tells me the original is pulling the player into playing those sounds.
    Either way, on this side of TH-cam, the difference is small, and I'm impressed, but some will pay big bucks for that extra last 5%... Even 2%.
    Personally, if I can, I'll try the clone first. This isn't really my domain as far as sounds, but I'll try anything.
    Interestingly, a Jan Ray clone wiped a bunch of other overdrives specifically made for what I do off my board and my jaw dropped... so yeah.. I'll try anything!

    Very interesting, Using studio grade headphones i could notice a really tiny difference in the 68 that it sounds a bit more "DRY"(?). I would like your opinion on feel and real sound. As of course with youtube compression and so on there is a difference of hearing it live. I am considering a KOT (already have a POT) and a 68 is a1/5 of the price so it would great to know what you think. I won't have the chance to compare them side by side.

      I did notice the 68 has socketed op-amps and the photo I saw had 4558's in it. Those are really bottom of the barrel so there may be a noticeable tonal difference by popping in something better. I'd say 5532 for an inexpensive option and 4562 for high end option. Of course there are many others but these two are usually great in retrofits. Now whether it actually sounds 'better' is something only you can decide...

      For better or worse, that's how the pedal business works, especially in the analog realm. I would argue that Analogman couldn't complain too much about the KoT being cloned as he just took someone else's design (Marshall's Bluesbreaker pedal) and put two of them (with a minor change to each to make them interact better) in a single case. If he can do it, why not other pedal makers?

    • @bobfeather1714

      @@Whiskeyklone It's one thing to make a pedal and call it your own. But to go after another manufacturer so blatantly with a name, and appearance that rides the merits of what someone else has done just reeks of something a non-scrupulous Chinese company would do. I don't mind someone taking an existing product and making it better through their own ingenuity, but to piggyback the name and fake the appearance, goes too far. A person's product should step up and stake it's claim on its own merits. The King of Klone is essentially what at Squier by Fender is, as compared to a real Fender. It’s just not as good, and people know this. Secretly, they all want the real deal. The Klone builder could have called it the Tone Krusher, or any other name, and that would have at least given him the possible future of being known as The Best for its own sound. But copping the look and claiming it to be “almost as good,” forever taints the product by its own admission of attempting to re-create the King of Tone. The King of Klone will always be known as second best and so will the company that “kloned” it. If damaging someone else's business, and essentially publicly stating "I don't care what damage I do as long as I make money," is what this guy is up to, well, then it's on his conscience, which apparently, he seems to be lacking.

      Orange side overdrive und red side High gain.
      Beide haben aber alle Optionen falls ich mal Beide Seiten High gain haben will mir gefällt am besten die Option od und High gain da die am besten mit dem klon harmonieren ich hab in meinem Chanel auch ein video KOT und Klon falls das auch interessant für dich ist.
      Grüße Gregor

      Danke für die prompte Antwort. Das Video hab ich mir angesehen, da ich einen Ryra Klon habe. Bei Analogman bin ich seit 6 Monaten auf der Waitinglist. Dein Video hat mich vorhin überzeugt, und da hab ich mir zur Überbrückung der nächsten 1-2 Jahre 🤔😊 den KOC bestellt.

    Also ich hab den 68er und ich stehe auf der „Liste“, höre aber kaum einen Unterschied. Mal sehen wie ich in etwa zwei Jahren darüber denke wenn ich dran bin. Meinst Du der Jnterschied von 300€ (incl Tax und Fracht) lohnt wirklich?

    • @gregorist-gregorbrewczynsk5269
      @gregorist-gregorbrewczynsk5269  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Also ehrlich gesagt rechtfertigt der höhere Preis es nicht.
      Ein Unterschied ist da, der aber so gering ist das sich das im bandgefüge kaum bemerkbar macht.
      Der größte Unterschied zwischen den beiden ist der Preis und das der King of tone früher anfängt zu zerren.
      Ich hatte schon 3 KoT aus verschiedenen Jahrgängen und selber die haben untereinander klangunterschiede gehabt, zwar nur gering aber sie waren da und bei einem hochpreisigen Pedal wie bei analogman sollte es ja nicht sein.
      Hätte ich den Test vor meinem kauf gehabt hätte ich mir das 68 Pedal gekauft und die Differenz in ein anderes pedal gesteckt ich möchte aber trotzallerdem meinen Analogman king of tone nicht missen da die Nuance die er mehr hat vom Sound mir extrem spielspaß bereitet.
      Grüße

      @@brucemarie3059 I'm very happy that I could help you with the video. the comparison KoC against the Wampler, I already have a video in my channel. king of tone vs ceriatone centura. the centura is just like the wampler tumnus because they are both KLON pedals and I would use both together, that opens up a lot of new sounds.

    What's the Noise Floor at Idle on these Pedals? Anyway...You get what you pay for in this Business just like any other. The Analogman is clearly the top choice in this Video...Look at the Circuit and you'll understand why...BUT...
    I would gladly anyday take the 68 King of Clone for it's close emulation! AND PRICE TOO!
    This is the reason why I have the Pedal coming from China, be here by the 15th of Sept.
    Once I can take a little closer look at the Circuits of the 68' I'll be in a better position to say why the Analogman is superior in the Effect it produces.

      Why should they lower the price, when people sell them immediately for over twice the retail? Economics 101. That's why concert ticket prices went up, why let the ticket resaler make such a profit when the promoter could do the same from source? John Mayer concert ticket price cheap seats £250, why? Because that's what the market could take. What is unreasonable is someone questioning the purchase price and expecting it to be lowered because some cheap chinese knock off can do a fair counterfeit for £100. They will lower the price when no one wants them any more, (Like never). On a plus, you are right its a great vid and the clone does sound great too.

    Don't forget it is not just how it sounds. They probably feel different to play. And KoT is made with quality components and the quality control in Anlogman in general is something else.
    The Clone has cheap components and lacks of quality control comparing to Analogman. The clone will more likely break in year or two. Let that sink in.
