If you get motion sickness I will advise to not even waste your money in getting this. It’s to the front of the boat and you will feel everything. I would purchase the ticket to get on the boat first but not sit to the front.
It is good timing that my trip arose at the same time that they launched the service. I thought that people would like to know about it so I decided to make the video. It seems that many are curious about the service based on the views so far.
I experienced the premium walk on passenger last week was allowed to board first sit where i wanted but on arrival everyone was coming out the same time 😅
On the APT James they did not operate in that manner and ensured that Premium passengers left first. However I saw that on the Buccou Reef they had everyone leave together which was not how it should have happened.
@@vampire_king34 i am 61 years old so just ask any trinidadian or tobagonian over the age of 60 if he remembers calamities happening on BIRD OF PARADISE and SCARLET IBIS. those were the two ferrys that plied their trade between trinidad and tobago. when one was in trinidad the other was in tobago. my father would make me and my brothers sit up on the deck because he could'nt afford the nice cabin class. everybody and i mean everybody would be puking their guts out over the side of the boat.
I travel recently on the Ferry, but didn’t know about premium class. I was travelling from the uk, my friend in Trinidad booked tickets. Looks cool and relaxed. Next time I will travel on premium.
So I didn't the compare and contrast as suggested, and the review is Unbiased and Objective. The Standards have remained the same. 👍 One footnote is that the process of purchasing a ticket, and getting to the Port PRIOR to parking on the Ferry itself would have been helpful to Foreigners though it should not be hard to figure out by asking a Trinidadian or perhaps by googling it oneself; but it just seemed like it would fit in nicely with these Documentarie, and I suggest this humbly. Outside of that remark, I'd say PERFECT review!👏👏👏⭐⭐
I agree it would have been good to show the process prior to entering the port. That is why I showed it on the other video where i showed the process in Tobago.
What is the diffrence from way back .is there a special service provided.it look the same as when i travelled sitting way to the front.i will like to know what has changed for such an increase in price.
Apart from the seating on the ferry there are several different features provided for Premium Class ticket holders. Persons with vehicles can bring their vehicle one hour before departure unlike the 2 hours required for other vehicles. The vehicles for Premium tickets are sent in a separate line so they have a faster check in, plus they are placed in a position so they are the first to be offloaded. Walk on passengers with Premium tickets are allowed to board first and so have first choice on where they want to sit plus they are allowed to come off first, much like how passengers in first class are treated on an airplane.
In the Bocas you do not really get any rough water. It is when you exit the Bocas and are in the actual Caribbean Sea that you can sometimes experience rough water. There are times when the water is completely flat and other times there are large swells.
@@pointboy12 I was wondering the same. Not sure why they would choose such a pattern but it's good to know it's not actually filthy. I once saw a new epoxy cement floor design on a car showroom floor that looked like random oil stains so I guess other folks make similar choices. LOL

You are mistaken about how the Premium Class works. All Premium Class walk on passengers disembark first. Then all Premium Class drivers are allowed to disembark as their vehicles are at the front. After the Premium Class leave then the other passengers disembark. That process was followed earlier this week. My friend came to Tobago today and he traveled Premium Class and that wS also the process that was followed
Anyone experienced seasickness recently on this? Reason being, I wish to take my daughter across for her first time, and she’s wheelchair bound. How long duration? Thanks community, in advance.
Some people do experience seasickness if the sea is rough and that is usually on the leg to Tobago. Two weeks ago two friends traveled to Tobago and the voyage going was rough. The wife took Gravol before and was ok, the husband did not and got seasick. On the return voyage the sea was clam and they were both ok. Also note that to the rear of the boat usually has less motion.
A major improvement, I'll have to say. Premium class isn't worth it in my opinion, there could be more than comfort seating and parking to make it more exclusive especially for an extra $100 both ways. However an improvement is still an improvement

There are three ferries and you did not say which one you used so I do not know if you experience is based on a single ferry. My video shows exactly what the ferry and the journey is like and I traveled on two recently. My friends also traveled on different days and they did not have your experience. Given the distance from Port of Spain to Scarborough the three hours is normal. You mentioned that you traveled on the ferries 20 years ago and so you should remember that in those days the journey took 6 hours. Therefore 3 hours is an improvement.
@@marcomarko1759 Ok, well as I said my experience was different. Sorry but that ferry is crap to the old fast ferry, what happened. It was more like a cruise ship with big tables, comfortable chairs everywhere and 20 dollar tickets, continuous decline of t&t, how sad.
I have no idea what you base your statements on. I have been traveling between Trinidad and Tobago for 50 years, going back to the days when it was an overnight journey and you carried sheets and sleeping bags for sleeping out on the deck. I clearly have to disagree with your statements. Even if I were to limit my comparison to the recent past and compare between the present ferries and the previous fast ferries, I would have to disagree with you. I returned on the ferry tonight and it was a different ferry from my Trip to Tobago. There were chairs for everyone and tables for those who wanted to sit around a table. I will agree that there seems to be less tables than the previous ferry but I did not count to be able to say that is really the case. It would be nice for prices to stay constant in this world and never increase and I would love for doubles to have remained at 50 cents instead of the present $6 or the price of going to a fete to have remained at $3 but unfortunately the world does not work that way because then it would have meant that wages remained at $3 per day.
