In a 2017 live stream, history was made when Li Yitong (Faka) tells her fans to die for shipping her with Huang Tingting (ship name KaHuang) and voting them into a CP song together.

4 years ago, SNH48 #2 (Faka) and #3 (HTT) were thrown into the highly anticipated sapphic "Evening Butterfly (夜蝶)“ single together [official Chinese version of AKB48's Oshibe to Meshibe to Yoru no Chouchou (おしべとめしべと夜の蝶々)].
Following the success of the single, Faka and HTT were propelled into a popular ship by fans and roomed together to promote it. A year later, the ship suffered a blow when Faka's leaked personal messages revealed resentment for HTT asking Faka to practice dance while Faka was vacationing (updated in How Faka Survived Scandal). Along with Faka's other complaints about HTT on social media, the ship finally sank in December 2017 after this infamous stream.
Afterwards, management took Faka's side, and HTT resigned from her co-captain position in Team NII. Faka would go onto become SNH48's Rank #1 and graduate with a solo career. HTT would drop out of Senbatsu rankings altogether...
...by leading the biggest boycott of the SNH48 6th Senbatsu Elections, tanking Siba's profits for the year and then slapping them with a contract-termination lawsuit for artist mistreatment.

UPDATE: How Faka Survived Scandal (AKA Faka's PR)
Everyone wonders how Faka not only survived, but thrived. Faka really curated a loyal fanbase that lives for her tea. She excels at being entertaining while sounding genuine (not apparent in this particular rant, but in many others). Her fanbase was already more likely to forgive her because they love her for her controversy and believe in her authenticity.
Incredibly, Faka positioned herself well in this scandal. She spent months dropping hints of how betrayed she felt by HTT before dropping this stream. Apparently she was very fond of HTT before she discovered that HTT privately thought of Faka as a blabbermouth. Whatever Faka came across led her to believe that HTT never liked her.
This betrayal started Faka's mission to end KaHuang. She made ambiguous posts about being a lovesick fool. These posts insinuated that HTT played with Faka's emotions and used their cp purely for marketing. Faka told her fans to stop supporting KaHuang, and publicly promoted herself with another member. Faka's open communication with her fanbase meant that she already built up sympathy by the time her stream dropped.
Meanwhile, HTT's public response was mostly silence. Fans know HTT for her professionalism and desire to keep personal matters private, but this meant the public only saw Faka's perspective. In leaked friends circle messages, HTT denied Faka's accusations, and said she always considered Faka to be a friend, albeit one with a loudmouth. But these leaks came too late, HTT's emotional restraint was interpreted as aloofness, and she wasn't able to gain the same public sympathy.
The same leaks however, supported Faka's statement that she was telling antis, not fans, to die. Because she didn't believe fans would vote for a cp that she already left. Many people believe the leaks came from Siba or Faka, because it really helped save Faka's rep with fans. To this day, most people who talk about this incident see Faka as emotional and impulsive, but as a victim.

Ahhh, sorry it took us so long to reply! We wanted to do a brief history and had to dig up old screenshots and fan summaries (just added write-up to the description). But yes, from what we came across (disclaimer: there's more out there we haven't read), nothing HTT said could have justified Faka's stream. It sucks that HTT had to duke it out with Siba afterwards. We hope she bests the legal hurdles and gets to live her best life.
