Jordie! Love the enthusiasm and the passion for the hobby. Good to see younger railfans out there on the high iron. Gained another subscriber out of me.

My moms side of the family are WV settlers who lived in Grafton since its founding. My mom grew up there in the 50s when Grafton was a very prosperous town due to the railroad hub there for travelers and a bigger coal industry. Grandpa was actually an engineer for B&O. My earliest memories were watching the trains, which was near the west end of the train yard, from my grandmothers porch when we visited her when I was 3. I also lived in Grafton for a short while as a teen and do miss it from time to time. Thanks for the vid, it brings back memories.

Nice video on the Grafton area! I used to railfan there a lot, especially before D Tower closed in 1999. FYI, the Fairmont Sub becomes the Norfolk Southern Loveridge Secondary at Rivesville, WV. I can remember when the Mountain Sub was double track between Grafton and Cumberland and when there were still open towers at D, Hardman, Rowlesburg, Altamont, West Keyser, and Viaduct Junction. My "good old days" are a year or two on either side of 1990, and someday these will be your "good old days". Thanks for documenting the railroad in 2023.

I've never seen a railfanning video with such charisma, substance, personality, and style before in my life. Fantastic stuff! I long to visit the US Some day to catch these beautiful steel beasts on camera myself. Maybe a cab ride if I'm lucky.

If you're ever interested, I'd love to forward you some neat places to catch those grafton trains heading into Maryland. There is an absolutely wonderful scenic mountain place to catch that train near Mt storm. It's down in a spot less traveled that locals up there know about and I stumbled upon. I am from about an hour and a half west in Parkersburg WV along the WV/ Ohio border. I really enjoyed watching. Giving some subs, one for my personal page and one for my TH-cam "Dig Doug's Artifacts & Adventures" . We do some shorts rail fanning occasionally. Really liked this video. Good luck and hit me up if you're interested in that spot.

Awesome. That’s my old stomping grounds. I actually live on the end if the Cowen sub 110 miles away. Love railfaning there. It is too much sometimes with everything going on. You seemed to have picked a busy day.
