  • This is a very popular songs in the Spanish-speaking world. It is a song that we are taught when we are little to learn how to count from one to ten.
To introduce it to my level 1 students, I use TPR (actions that go with words from the song).
Introducing the song, singing it, moving with it and learning it is part of a lesson that lasts a week.
I have been posting on IG about the other activities I do after the song, leading up to the reading of the book: La araña y los elefantes.

Thank you for making this video. I teach English and study Spanish, so i enjoyed listening to your story. I especially liked the way you taught them words through mime and got them to mime with you - brilliant! What was the purpose of asking students to translate into English? If just to assess their understanding, surely that could be done through spanish? Who is Lukas?

I have read your brand new awesome book "Soy yo, la mosca" where you talked about the life of a fly in a fly's point of view, which i find very interesting, I would love to read more books like that!!
(maybe less chapter cuz smash doodles take really long to do with 9 chapters)

No hacemos ejercicio escritos. Escribimos juntos al final de cada historia.

I have read your excellent book, ¿Qué dijiste?, where you say how important it is to see the teacher's lips. Maybe you could have a camera person sit in the center of the front row, who can film your face and the board.
Also when you point to the board, can you please be sure to face the camera and the class, when you speak.
    Gracias.

I am so happy to know you read ¿Qué dijiste? and to know that you liked it. Thank you for your words and support.
As for filming my classes, unfortunately I do not have access to a person that can be there to film them. The layout of my class does not let me place my phone (yes, I film with my phone) in a "central place".
The purpose of these videos are for teachers to learn how to teach with CI methodologies.
When I am filming these videos I am teaching my actual classes, not thinking about the camera/video.
