- My friends and I visited Chefchaouen, Morocco also known as the Blue City back in February (before the pandemic began) and it was one of the best trips of our lives! In this vlog we tried Moroccan food, went on a hike to see the sunset, became friends with some locals, listened to live music, and stayed in the coolest airbnb I've ever seen! Hope you enjoyed watching it :)

tanger = tin ig . place with hills
Not totally true chefchauen is two word Chef means look and chaouen mean two horn or crown and it means look at the horns.

Why is the city of Chefchaouen "the blue diamond" painted in blue?
The legend tells, that in this city lived a girl of a great beauty, the tradition wanted that the women veil showing only their eyes, then and to be recognized and to be distinguished from the other girls of the small city by her lover who was a young and handsome boy from the city with whom she shared a love of a rare passion, she put blue kohl (she had blue eyes in other version because of her andalusian origins) on her beautiful eyes, they met by the stream in a discreet corner away from view to rejoice and fill there eyes with the face of the beloved, their love for each other was so great, so strong, (but there parent was against their union) ... that one day at sunset they were found entwined but inanimated at the edge of the stream, the whole city was all affected by the purity of this love of these two young people, So the next day, all the girls in town painted the facades of their houses in blue To honor the memory of the two lovers ... and it has lasted until now

Hey i'm from chefchaoun. at 4:42 it was named chefchaoun because of a two mountains above the city and this name (chefchaoun) it was given by the amazig who one lived in the city a long time ago
