. My father used to play it all the time when I was a kid. He also shared with me he saw the Ojays live he passed a joint to one of the members I cant remember who. He gets so hyped up when he tells the story too cause he was one of the only white guys there haha but he had friends who took him and looked out for him he said seeing Ojays and music like theirs back then in the 70's and 80's was the best time of his life. I am 25 and so envious of your guys generation the music is so good. People my age look at me funny when I turn on soul train

I'm 64. I used to watch this show in the 70s when I was in 7th grade or so. What I find odd is I'd watch this and Dick Clark's show and it never occurred to me that one show had more blacks and one show had more whites. I just would look for the best dance moves and coolest songs to learn at school dances. Ditto with watching Fat Albert, What's Happening, or Gilligan's Island. It never meant anything to me what color the actors were. Today it seems there are groups that intentionally try to segregate based on color. BLM is a great example. Or Proud Boys. Or ANY group that defines their identity based on skin color. I find it offensive, for example, to "support" black-owned business. I'll buy 100% of my stuff from a business based on the product/service quality. Anyone feel same?
