surfing in ireland is cold but AWESOME!! the waves are sick!!! us irish people think off ireland as normal and green but tourists think its absolutley beautiful!!! bundoran is awesome too!!! SEA SESSIONS!!
I moved to Ireland for surfing, but I feel you really missed some important foreign people from the scene: the crew from Bundoran SurfCo and Liquid Therapy or Paul OKane with the surf rescue. They made an enormous impact on the surfing community!
south african chargers everywhere! my mother stays in dublin, not a good coast for surfing apparentely. im in cape town, absolutely in love with the ocean.
All you need is lots of hot tea before and after, good wetsuits and a fireplace afterwards is nice too. good boards that are designed to work in the conditions is essential. I'd love to go surf Ireland!
I come from New Zealand South Island, we surfed all winter long there also the southerly wind OMG. My parents immigrants father from guess where haha. The cold yeah I know it, spent a winter in Ireland also. hats off to you guys its beautiful to watch.
Used to date a surfer in the early 80s he was Irish from Belfast, we were going from Tramore beach all along the west coast Westport, our biggest waves were off DUNBEG IN co. Clare incredible days, sets of 5 and six only the big wave surfers were out,, named the wave in Doolin 'sneaky peak, it came in a long the cliff then suddenly pushed out to create a great shaped wave. Australia was ice to surf ut we preferred Ireland, o surfers o ly the odd few of us, couple of Californians they had money I those days, loved the life o the road.
I guarantee the bodyboarder were the ones to pioneer many of these spots before stand-ups came along with jet skis. Same way Teahupo'o came into fruition .
I'm passing this note to all the cold weather Surfers. You can buy a thing made to dry boots and gloves. and modify it to dry your wet suits without harming them. check it out .glove and boot dryer in your usual hunters magazine
You guys are hard core bad ass to take on those conditions and huge ass waves!! biggest I surf is after a Fla.hurricane goes by..and the waters warm.lol😎
awesome doco, check out WHM for cold water exposure, it may help a lot of ye guys out, looking forward to a dip in the Atlantic when I get home for Christmas.
F@ck this! I lived 15 years surfing cold waves, and good snow ...really paid attention to the weather, the winds, taught me a lot and appreciated the times when you had to figure out the conditions and landscape, but fuck this, I live in SE Asia now! hah I have the utmost respect and awe for these guys...
I don't mind foreign surfers in Ireland. Years ago, early 90's, a guy called Paul LeClerc from the Channel Islands, moved into our area. Watching and surfing with him improved my game no end. Besides apart from the well published breaks, you could be surfing alone most sessions. Anyway we were Europe's greatest travellers to far off lands once, unfortunately out of necessity.
Ahh gway lads! Wearing a 500 euro wetsuit, gloves and a hood and still complaining about the not so cold cold? I was out last week in my cheap surfdome wetsuit that was on sale and two left foot booties that I brought by accident, not a bother
I wouldn't be showing these waves on u tube to the world. U guys need to keep your waves to yourselves. Next thing you know you will have looks littering your beaches and showing no respect to the land... Keep it to yourselves.
ANOTHER GREAT REASON FOR SURFING AND STAYING/LIVING IN IRELAND, NO GREAT WHITES OR SIMILAR TYPE SHARKS GONNA EAT YOU ALIVE, NO SNAKES NOTHING POISONIOUS TO KILL YOU, NO EARTHQUAKES NO VOLCANOS,NO NATURAL DISASTERS, APART FROM A GOOD BIT OF RAIN WE REALLY DO HAVE A PARADISE HERE IN IRELAND WITH A FANTASTIC QUALITY OF LIFE, NOT SURPRISING SO MANY PEOPLE LOVE LIVING HERE AND THE LIFESTYLE IS A HUGE ADDED BONUS ALSO.
Love the fact that surfers and bodyboarders respect hitch other
Tiryon Lannister wish it was move seen worldwide 🙏🏽💯

You are very right. See episode one that looks at the bodyboard pioneers who paved the way for the surfers. Link above.
