His left hand doesn't do anything specific, just moves to the next position to continue playing, but his right hand moves off screen for a second and that produces the sound. I don't know guitars at all, so maybe he's doing something to the wires that produces that distortion, not sure, but it's not a sound from the strings, that much looks clear to me now

What the heck is that sound at 2:41... I friggin love it!! I'm very much a newbie to musical instruments, what "technique" or movement is producing that sound? I can't even tell and I've rewatched it a few times.. I've never heard that on an electric guitar before

@@YarkoFFXI I forgot about this one, haha, it's been a while. I just rewatched that moment a few times, and it looks like his right hand is doing something off the guitar itself. His left hand doesn't do anything specific, just moves to the next position to continue playing, but his right hand moves off screen for a second and that produces the sound. I don't know guitars at all, so maybe he's doing something to the wires that produces that distortion, not sure, but it's not a sound from the strings, that much looks clear to me now
He uses the whammy bar on the Floyd Rose to make that sound.
