He didn’t wanted to use anything else even though different people recommended different songs. Imagine a guy from south, directing in north and resurfacing old treasures. It’s our responsibility to follow these original singers and writers.

Arjan Vailly is from rich tradition of Dhaadi vaaran folk singing in Punjab and Sikhs and where they would sing about tales of valour of warriors, gurus, martyrs and battles. Gurudwaras, fairs still have dhaadi vaaran sung by dhadis narrating tales about battles. It was a slowly dying tradition but kudos to Vanga for reviving it via Animal and having a superstar like Ranbir perform to Arjan Vailly and Babbal ji getting recognition for dhaadi style singing and all awards, stage shows. Hope it will encourage more people to keep alive rich folk tradition of dhaadi vaaran singing style.
