  • From Chief Lalley - As we start 2020, I want to share with you a video that highlights just how special our employees are here at the police department. This video illustrates one of so many things that EPD employees do quietly behind the scenes and that I see every day. While we do share many of the big things that happen and much of our outreach on social media, there are cases you don’t see that impact each one of us on a different level. This video illustrates a situation in which Officers Kevin Snow and Hector Gutierrez helped to make a difference in a young person’s life. I want you to know how proud I am of those who serve our community, people who care and truly want to make Elgin the best it can be. We serve an amazing community and we will always work on being better and doing better for you. Elgin, this is your PD, and I hope we make you proud! Let’s have a great 2020 Elgin!! Happy New Year!!

The girl was in high school? She looks like a middle schooler. There's so many questions too, like where was her sister this entire time? Also who was paying rent and other bills at the apartment? Mom doesn't live there and is addicted to drugs so she's not paying the rent and bills, dad isn't around at all so he's definitely not paying the rent or bills. I'm glad the apartment manager noticed the girl and called the police. This girl could've been snatched, S.A. or murdered and nobody would've known. The mom deserves to be arrested for neglect and abandonment.
