Mount Hood Climb and Summit Tour - Solo 4/28/2023

Right Pearly Gate up - Left down, perfect conditions on all routes observed. Snow a little hard early to kick steps, but all steps up normal routes kicked in. Crampons gripped well cutting over fresh snow to Right gate, early snow was hard enough deep steps did not need to be kicked, crampon front points held fine.

That dude on the summit at 4:47. Imagine if you took his photo and tried to get it to him somehow. Would make for the coolest and quite literally priceless gift. 😅 can’t exactly stage a photo shoot up there I don’t think.

That's awesome! I'd recommend spring/early summer, with around sunrise summit time aim. It will be safest for falling ice, which can happen as it warms up 🙂
