Terje was my neighbour for several years here in Oslo, Norway. Such a cool guy and def the best off slope rider ever! Such good understanding for the enviroment and the sport..
It was awesome seeing this one again. It's been almost a decade boarding, and was blessed to see this early on. This one was and still is truly inspiring. Thanks Team Terje.
This is the most incredible thing I have ever seen! It doesn't seem possible. Terje proves that it is with amazing skill and bravery. I still can't believe he did that. The camera work is impressive too. Amazing!
man imagine the feeling of doing that. it must feel completly amazing acomplishing something noone else has plus lookiing back at the mountain. Truly amazing.
I have been a skier for 30 years and board off and on and that was some of the best footage I have ever seen. I would sell my soul to have a run like that and be one with the mountain. That demands and deserves respect. Terje job well done. I would also love a hi res photo at exactly 3:35 or 36
This is one of the most amazing things I have ever seen. Some people go their entire lives and never come close to experiencing the awsomeness this dude must have felt going down the mountain.
omg i cry every time i see this. it's a beautiful thing to get past the fear to do something. keep living life to the fullest... one great feat at a time! =]
That was awesome! Terje Haakonsen is, and forever will be, the God of Snowboarding. I would not be able to even stand on that promontory, let alone snowboard down a 60 degree slope. (It didn't even look *feasible*!) Much respect to you, Terje!
King Terje!!! When he makes the turn off the cliff face into the chute and the Foo Fighters song kicks in, oh man! Terje's been my hero since the early 90's.
He has done a lot for skiing as well. As a devoted skier, I truly believe that snowboarding saved skiing. This guy is one of my heros, the tool he uses for descent is irrelevant.
its just awsome....he rides like it is a piece off cake on the i think more that 90 % incline and everyone who is boarding know that this was really for all regards....thanks Terje
This represents true spirit of Snowboarding. It's just one man against the mountain and his own fear. Terje isn't out there to prove anything to anyone else. Inspiring in the extreme.
HAH HAH! that's awesome!!! i liked how he garlanded at the beginning, and when i thought it coulded get any crazier, he ollies and wheelies down a 80-somethin-degree descent. craaazy...
And THAT is why Terje Haakensen is my favorite snowboarder. And the movie this came from is why travis rice is my second. Speechless man. totally speechless.
Oh man bro that first descent into the chute took some seriously huge balls. God just standing at the top took nads, but that chute once you got down into it was soo fine; get hauling through that stiff Alaskan powder that doesn't break god want to be there now!! Nice job dude!
I'm thinking on taking up snowboarding after being a downhill two-planker for 40 years. I'd like to go from only having been on a board once to being an Olympic-class snowboarder in just one run.... This is a good training video. Seba... wish me luck. Stan
The Sprocking Cat strikes againg.... He has always been my favorite rider.. Truly still the best.. Terje is Shawns mentor. Shawn is a hella of a good rider. Terje dropped out of the scene days ago because snowboarding was becoming a "SPORT". He always just rode to ride and be with friends....Thats what riding is about.
Wow What an achievement. It's a privilege to even see that on video. I think (maybe it wasn't you??) I might have met you all in Cervinia. August 2005. I didn't realise at the time what awesome (in the real sense) mountain men I was talking to. This guy is just amazing. True courage. Very dangerous though.
I am a very casual skier, so I don't know...but is this the greatest descent of all time? This is the most amazing thing I've ever seen in my life. Can someone please add some links to more stuff like this?
omfg, that's is so fckin sick! I started snowboarding like a month ago, and never thought something like this was possible, coming down a 60 slope. Respect man, seriously!
Truly amazing, and what is so crazy, is that's 100% real. Terje Haakonsen is a well known snowboarder, to most people. But he is a private person, so that is way some people doesn't know about him.
Pretty sure that was the Foo FIghters...sounded a lot like them anyhow. Wow, I must say that was the most intense and amazing thing I have ever seen. I got butterflies in my stomach watching this...and I puckered up tighter than a boa constrictor in sheer terror. Way to go Terje! You rock dude.
I would try this; but I would die so no thanks. This is the craziest ride ever. And he made it look easy!! His Air turns are like 30'-50' after clearing the death- looking first 30 seconds! WOW Terje is the man! Is there a skier who can do this run? Would love to see it!!
this descent is the illest. terje is still the dopest big mtn rider. man this is just one of the best snowboard movies yet. the premise is cool and not just parts cut up with tunes. in the theatre it was like an imax snowboard flik. farm and peratta are still ripping. peratta shud be dead with his head bash off rocks back in the day. plus it has two of the best riders and my favs t-rice and terje then add white and teter.. a must see and own if you shred.
this video with that horizontal compression only exist here i guess. Seen it on sportsnews here in norway over the internet, and the format is normal. And it is pretty impressive as well!
I think the reason it looks like a straight down chute is because the video 16:9 ratio and we're seeing in regular full mode -- it's compressed (and distorted). They even say in the video that it's like 60 degrees. To Terje's everloving credit, that's still unbelieveable!!!
Who is back again to se this. What a man. The King of snowboard.
terje is a legend, he was the reason why i start snowboarding in the middle 90s - thank you for change my life a bit terje
Terje was my neighbour for several years here in Oslo, Norway. Such a cool guy and def the best off slope rider ever! Such good understanding for the enviroment and the sport..
just cant stop watching it. that first moment when he is on the edge looking down - spine tingling. the coolest man on the planet...
1:25 ish, dude says "he'll be ok, he's a good snowboarder." Good snowboarder???! That's Terje f***ing Haakonsen man!!
I LOOOVE THIS! coolest ever! i have grown up 200m from where he grow up!...Vinje the place to be:)!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is the most incredible thing I have ever seen! It doesn't seem possible. Terje proves that it is with amazing skill and bravery. I still can't believe he did that. The camera work is impressive too. Amazing!
