    Recently purchased one of these. Very nice for having lots of fun with. I like the fantasy tone 078 which sounds really great.
    The last Casio I had fun with was back in the 1990s. Unfortunately I cannot remember the model except it was a small Casiotone keyboard of about 16 or 32 keys. Both the drumbeat and the harmony had sliding volume controls so you could have either or both playing at different levels if you wished. The rhythm was selected by buttons and I believe there was only 8 of them to choose from. So if you wanted to change rhythms mid performance a loud click was heard when you pressed the button, and the beat changed instantly. I think it was mainly produced as a toy rather than a proper keyboard?
    Thanks for the great review. :)

      @@gearfacts Yea but some people want to actually learn to play the piano and have no interest in having fun with the beats and modified sounds. And if you want to learn real music then the truth is that you will run short for lots of songs because you don't have as many keys to play them.

    • @gearfacts
      @gearfacts  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      SimulatedReality This is a fair point. Most people who are serious about learning will go for something like a 76 key semi weighted keyboard. However there is a growing force among piano teachers and parents for the inclusion of fun features to provide a bit of respite from the hard work of learning scales etc. It’s also a way of applying knowledge gained - a nice way to round off a lesson. Of course many will use these features as a shortcut to music making - but those students were probably never all that serious in the first place (I was one of them!)

    • @OP-lk4tw
      @OP-lk4tw 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@gearfacts Yes, it depends on the goal each person have ultimately. There are definitely some cool and fun features, I have this keyboard, and it's great for its prize. But I hate to have to deform songs because of the lack of keys and the quality of the sound each note produces isn't the most beautiful either

    I want a casio keyboard that I can record what I play, also be able to plug in my electric guitar and also has sustain, which model can I do this with without spending too much ?

    • @gearfacts
      @gearfacts  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      There aren't many Casios that can record audio input as well as keyboard input... I think the PX5s can do both. Very expensive though. Maybe try an XW-G1, it has all those features. It's more of a sampling keyboard but you will get a good mix of audio and midi on that one.

      Hi Antonio, according to the manual, some sounds (it doesn't say which) have a sustain symbol that appears on the display. I guess this means that some sounds have built-in sustain and and it can't be turned on and off. Gearfacts
