I just replaced the stock struts on my 2012, and they had a 2.5" Mammoth leveling kit previously installed . I replaced them with a set of 2" Rancho leveling struts. I found that whoever added the leveling kit to the OEM struts didn't have the truck aligned, causing premature tire wear.
After you install any suspension upgrade, GET AN ALIGNMENT!!!

Yep!! Any time you do ANYTHING to modify your suspension, you're gonna *really need* an alignment for everything to perform properly. -Zach

Just put my spacers on, even though it was only 2 inches, made the truck look way better, and still rides great. Super cheap if you have all the tools at home. Heat gun and penetrating oil if your trucks little older like my 2011.

I had to trim part of my front bumper. Bumper spacers would have worked too. But I opted to cut it. Also had to cut behind the tire on the fender liner and the actual metal on truck. Click on my picture and I give a full depth description on how I did it. Hope this helps.

Just bought the 2" Rough County Leveling Kit from Amarican trucks. Once installed I mounted a 35/ 12.5 on a 17" rim. The rim off set was a -34.
I had to do very little triming just to make sure I had no rub.
The Leveling Kit did raise the front of the truck a half inch above the rear.
Be sure to watch Amarican Trucks installation video. It was very informative.

Even the 2" strut extensions cause the front control arms to contact the springs on even mild articulation changes. The CVs bind up all the time too. The upper ball joints will wear out extremely fast as well. I have the rough country lift struts and I massively regret it. High should be gained by spring pre load like the bilstien struts.

This stuff is all junk and will kill your ride quality, I have a spacer level kit. Its most noticeable negative effect is when going into slight curves doing speeds of 40 and up (which is a big deal). If road conditions are slippery or wet I always feel the offset bounce the spacer gave me will force the rear to lose traction. Theres nothing smooth about it. You have a nice truck, spend the extra 200 bucks and buy a strut kit.

If these were a solution to clearance and looks, the mfg would do this already prolly in some sort of package or whatever. TH-cam is a wonderful place to get paid to advertise and say things are great. Go to a forum with truck owners similar to yourself I didnt say not to do this. I simply said this is a hack way or a shortcut using junk parts to achieve what your looking for. Notice how I made a comment involving having one on my truck. I to was cheap and decided that losing traction and having a stressed suspension is not worth the risk of losing control.

Super easy to install? For who?! Are you saying that to make yourself feel more competent than everyone watching? Or maybe just to sell more of them?

If you're at all competent with hand tools this is not rocket science. Its all removing and reinstalling bolts, if you have a problem with that pay a shop to do it for you.
