I had been hoping that we would hear Con's beautiful singing voice this season (he's a Tony nominee & Olivier winner) but I could not have predicted we would get that much and La Vie En Rose of all songs.
Con O’Neill was already charismatic enough to make Izzy a character I like despite being villainous, but who told him to sing like that? He stole my heart and I’m pressing charges!

FREAKING LA VIE EN ROSE 🌹 I. Am. Dead. This show killed me and I’m dead. I knew Con could sing but to give Izzy such a gentle romantic song WHILE HE OPENS HIMSELF UP TO THE COLOUR AND LOVE ON THE SHIP. Have no freaking words. I know not everyone is happy that our boys didn’t take it slow. But I think it’s important they get the tension out before they have the real conversation. Especially now that Stede has cemented himself as a “real pirate”. Lucius and Pete being too loved up to notice there’s a party and subsequently an attack on the ship is never not gonna be funny. I love our newlygaged couple. I love that Pete was trying to convince Lucius that they need to save the crew, I love how they’re too late anyways. Next episode definitely had a different tone. I’m glad our crew had a moment of fun to celebrate calypso!
I do love how hard they’re going on the season parallels, and it continues into the next episode in a way I quite like from a character standpoint. This whole season has been one of my favorite kind of parallels, in that it’s not the same but it rhymes. Favorite things this episode are Black Pete and Lucius being in such a happy post-engagement sex-haze that they miss half the plot and Izzy having a surprisingly amazing singing voice, I had no idea he had musical experience. For those of us in the know it is quite funny and fitting for a Ned Low to be introduced as a crazy violent potentially huge threat and then be summarily taken care of immediately because he’s just a device for the greater plot and his actual character doesn’t matter at all. Also gonna quickly say that sex positions ≠ personality and I never like equating or boiling down a relationship dynamic into just that......... but I KNEW Stede was gonna top. “Says daddy issues over here!” “I know what those fireworks symbolize! They’re coming out of canons, even.”

WALL-E has been one of my favorite movies since it came out, so to hear La Vie En Rose from the most shockingly amazing voice of a character I despised for so long… I just love this show guys…I just fucking love this show.

Yeahhhhhhh i was freaking out too, I knew Con could sing, but this was fucking charming as hell, augh... Stede is using therapy to save the day, yeh the people-positive management style (combined with wiggling out of his bonds and seizing a blade) to get out of trouble this time...but then the result, and that flashback to his child self, oof ahahaha, i know what those fireworks mean...(i kinda figured they would have sex in this ep, the show has been fast paced so far, ep 5 was the moonlight ep, and ep six was the sexual stabbing in the cold open, those were my clues) huh, yep, banging to cope with murder...hmm, yeah not exactly taking it slow oh no, his hands were bound, Low is likely...low...permanently, heh. again, the takeaway here is that Izzy is becoming the absolute embodiment of a Revenge crewmate, sweet songbird now that Swede is on land
I don't think ANYONE expected that Ed and Stede ending, I certainly didn't, I think I blue screened. I'm like you though, I'm just waiting for everything to come tumbling down around them, in whatever form that comes.
Like I said in another reaction for a different video, I was just about to go bed until I caught your video 😂 Your exclaim over the prince, and shock on Izzy’s singing and the Blackbonnet hookup made my night. Will be waiting for ep7
4:22 this is about the point my brain stopped working until violin guy showed up again. (and when that scene was over my brain stopped working again. looking forward to seeing your reaction to THAT bit.) edit: you did not disappoint.
I swear I laughed so hard last episode when Ed asked if his probation would last more than a day, but considering that Black Pete and Lucius' engagement celebration was 24 hours and he's already back in his leathers and not wearing his cat bell (sadly), apparently it did only last a day 😆 But it honestly made me really sad that that also means that it was basically just over 24 hours after Ed asking to take it slow that a little new trauma caused them to have their first time on a whim, which they had agreed they didn't want. I might be in the minority here, but when I first saw Ed's face when he's on the bed, it kind of reminded me of how Stede looked when he agreed to go to China, like a "I love you and I want this but I'm also hesitant that this is a good idea" Not that I in any way think Ed was pressured or wasn't fully consenting, I just feel like in that moment I could see a bit of sadness in his face that these weren't the circumstances he wanted for their first time.
